Can anyone tell me which wire the fuel pump relay gets a signal off from the coil?

    hi murph,

i am looking on with interest, i shall be hopefully starting a thread of my own soon and find your detail very helpful, the interest and in depth knowledge shared on here is inspiring to say the least!

should you not be looking to your ecu for the signal to the fuel pump?

i would have thought the coil was a seperate component of the ignition system.

if i am correwct and it is dta management, or whatever management you are using then i am sure your answer lies there.

    looking on with great interest!

    Cheers Baz!

Afaik the fuel pump relay gets a signal from the old coil, I'm just thinking this would be the easiest way to tap into the relay with the signal wire from the new ecu.

There is probably better ways to go about this but I'm not great with the electrical side of things!

Yes its DTA I'm using, also for anybody in the know, when cranking will the DTA software register engine speed or does it have to be at a higher rpm before it will pick it up because so far theres no reading?

Right the wiring was different on my sensor, pin 3 was the signal waire, just checked the resistance.

Still stumped as to how to wire in the signal wire from the ecu to the fule pump relay, any ideas?

Having hassle with the crank sensor, I'm getting no rpm reading.

In general engine settings, I have entered number of teeth on wheel including missing teeth as 60 and number of teeth missing as 2, is this correct?

What should I enter for sensor position in degrees btdc?

Also unsure about firing tooth on start up and rover flywheel mode, what setting are people using for this?

im only familiar with emerald setup really but i know that you have to make sure that the CKPS is set for a digital (hall) and not inductive signal for the ABF.
my base map was already setup for the 60-2 standard ABF trigger wheel so i didnt need to change anything.

can you see if the ecu is sensing crank position?
how are you wiring the rev counter, are you using the diode trick?

the engine has to be turning at 60rpm for it to sense crank signal

I haven't got as far as worrying about the rev counter yet tbh.

I have found out the settings for the crankshaft 60-2 @ 90degrees so I'm happy enough with that.

The battery and starter are good and engine is cranking fine.

Pin 13 is no good for the fuel pump relay signal either, there is no wire or pin there so I have no way of connecting to it.

Long time no update, I upgraded the loom and ecu for a DTA S40.

I downloaded the SWIN software and started configuring the general engine settings.

I tested my VR crank sensor and I am getting around 800 ohms between pin 2 and 3 going by the pic Jonnycab posted, haven't spent much time at it yet but everything seems to be working so far except for I'm still getting no rpm signal when cranking.

I have entered number of teeth on wheel including missing teeth as 60 and number of teeth missing as 2 and sensor position as 90 degrees.

Must have another play around with it tomorrow and see what I'm doing wrong, any ideas?
