the car in the thread of mk3 mans oka , as it doesnt have the stupid HUGE rear diffuser and that weird fron bumper .....it DID look half ok...but vw buffs like us lot dont put bodykits on our cars..(not all of em) we like to style em different..if he has a tight budget then why buy all that bodykit ...i bet he has spent twice what i have ....

a different look means porsche alloys/or lupo handles/mirrors ...or audi interior ....thats the way to go..not cobra bucket seats and HUGE diffusers ...but hey its his so dont worry ...let him...

I was s tudent when i built my 8v, and when i bought this 16v and started track-daying it.

I worked damn hard alongside my course to afford the car i wanted.

I'm no longer a student and can spend even more on the (gearboxes) stupid little thing though!

i'm not knocking anyones car here,

i just hate all the whining. Also you have to think how magazines operate, if they are close to press date and have a space then watever they find will go in or they will lose the advertisers cash that actually pays for the mag

So all you chaps and chappesses with nice cars, go bang on their door with a write up and some pics, so next time they will ask you first

Its each to their own.. :)

I can see both sides of the arguement...

A lot of VW enthusiasts (me included) think that the original LOOK of a Golf shouldnt be messed with. A bit of subtle lowering, nice wheels & little tweaks..Job Done. Most of the tweaks are under the skin ;)

Others like to be more diverse, & go for big bodykits, bumpers etc etc. I can see how a mk3 1.4 with such mods could be assumed to not be a "VW scene" car & more of a McDonalds/Halfords cruise car...

I personally prefer to see feature cars with greater technical input & where the owner has real talent or has done something innovative..... twin engines/1.8T conversions into older cars etc etc

But the guy has got his car into a mag...good for him [:D]

cmon if all we see is small bumpered mk2s on splits then the scene will disappear up it's own RS. you have to have a go at stuff to see what works at what doesn't

    hmmm.

Bit like buying a small light mk1, cleaning it up and lowering it...
hardly anything spent and get it mag featured...

good luck to him ( mk3 owner). I don't even want to get started on this topic and the way this guy has been blitzed on this forum [:x]

I'm sorry if I've caused any offence to the guy in this thread.

It's not to my taste, but I'm sure there are a lot of people out there that like it.

I've had people saying my car is sh1te, but it doesn't bother me (my dad and my brother tell me all the time [xx(] ). At the end of the day if everyone liked the same thing the world would be boring, right?

As long as he's happy with it that's all that matters

    Hey peeps,

not keen on this car either, but its not nice to diss him so much, maybe just say i dont like the car, its not to my taste etc,
but people on here are going crazy,

i dont agree with his mods, but he built it that way as that was his choice and preference,

the vw scene is changing into a bunch of arrogant people,

hope this guy hasn't been offended so much he no longer uses this forum
