Hi all, Im in New Zealand and old VW's and Audis are rare as. The other day I was down at the car dump and there was an old Audi 80 (1984ish) square shaped one. It has a metal sunroof with a winder in it... is this any good for a mk2?
anyone know a place that might service old motors or repair them as my motor stopped working any ideas people ?
Harry the cake How did you work out which way round the connections went on the switches Have you got sum urself ??
I used to be an auto electrician so used to be my job to know But if I don't know I usually use a multimeter to test or wiring diagrams. Basically most electric window/riif switches have a similar arrangement of connections.
Just to add to the post, heres a usefull webby that has a tutorial on how to fit a t&s roof, among other things: Jolly Usefull
No, not yet Its on the to-do list along with the T&S sunroof which i have waiting also.... Have you got one to go in now??
Yeah, i managed to get the same type as you have. Came with the same type of bmw switch aswell. Was told that this was an after market electric sunroof kit made by 'longlife'
VW never actually made an electric kit for the MK2, Longlife made one kit and ive seen a slightly different kit made by another company too.... boith aftermarket obviously.... Did yours come with any wiring???
the other type is a german after market kit. I have one of these aswell, it also has a map reading light in the cover. Yeah i got all the wiring with mine.
I dont suppose you could take a pic of it so i can see what wire goes where?? Its the switch side of things that im not sure where to wire up and also where you connect on the back of the fuse board....
