odd, we found the rear one's ok, but the front's were a nightmare. For starters, the antiroll bar one is sooo tight that you have to use hench pair of grips to pull the top down but can only grip just on the edge as you need room for the bolt to come up through!!! and we replaces all the bushes on the subframe and then just could not get the wishbones back in for love nor money!!!! major head ache. glad they last a long time. Are you guys running from your brake M/C, one feed to both fronts, and the one to the bias valve and then split after the valve?
That was the original plan, although still considering the option of a pedal box, but will have to see how the funds last
you gonna run it off the mk3 mc? am thinking bout going to non abs g60 unit mine had been a ballache then realized had front brakes off the hole closest to the servo which has a smaller outlet to the one further away so rear brakes were out-performing the fronts even with the dash bias valve, swapped em round and now have perfect stopping power [] if that makes sense?!
Ye I bought a new MC when fitting the engine in 2007 so was planning to use that switch7 as it is a decent size. Glad you got the brake issue sorted, will keep that in mind when routing the brakes
i want to keep the standard size pipe that comes out the mc which i think is 1/4, but need to then convert it down to 1/16 which is what comes out the abs unit to the calipers i think. can't find any connections that step down from 1/4 to 1/16
I am afraid nothing has been happening to it of late. Time has been spent on the new daily project. The VR6 will probably not be ready until next year as we have a fair bit of work to do on the shell, will be done right though. It is making a good parts store at present
..probably been a bit busy having fun with another car? Eh Martin? Pictures please! Still not seen it...
Been keeping a low profile lately saving for a house deposit, but decided enough was enough with the Mk3 daily project and wanted to concentrate on the VR6 track car, so I treated myself to a new daily. Not light blue, silver Chris I will get some pics up later once I have finished cleaning
You'll rub the paint away if you clean it any more! It's a lovely M3. The wheels could be done with a dose of anti-bling...but a lovely car.
Hey Martin good to see things are still progressing with this, whens the launch date? I am very tempted into blowing the house money seems like an M3 wouldnt be a bad compromise i could maybe sleep in the boot Can you fire me a PM with your number my phone went tits last week and i lost everything [:^(]
Cheers for the comments chaps. I will start a new thread with pics of the daily. goof - M3 is a very good choice, awesome machine on the back roads up here. Some pace!! Anyway, for those who are interested, here are some pics of the latest updates on the golf Gearbox back from Stealth with a 3.67 FD and Quaiffe diff Picked up my lightweight panels a few months ago, very pleased with them. Also ordered some new wheels. Hoping to have it ready for either GTi International next year or if we are struggling, the CGTi 'ring trip.
V.cool. Almost ordered a set of those wheels not that long ago, either them or the TH2's. Looks like there a fair bit of width going on there as well. Does that mean the OZ's will be up for sale?????
Aye they are 8x16's with an ET10 Coullstar. Should fill the arches nicely. No I am afraid both the OZ's are not for sale, they will still be the track wheels as the leggeras have the R888s on and will stick wets on the super T's.
Very nice, Love seeing the updates on this! Any chance of sharing Also Is that a steel sump? Am I right saying VAG only supply Aluminum replacement now?
This thread is actually 100% responsible for the fact that i'm now going to buy a mk3 VR6, some OZ's etc etc Loving the thread... where did you get hold of the flared wings btw??? very nice ;D
