Yes, but only managed 28mpg average on the trip to the ring and back including 8 laps. Circa 1200 miles. But the smiles per mile outweigh the consumption.
Chin up ... you`ll soon forget all the tribulations once you`re behind the wheel again - what`s another week ... only work ! November`s EVO gives it the
I thought modern cars were meant to be ultra efficient etc etc. Almost don't feel so bad about my MK2 now.
I wish my big limo would do 20MPG, guess why I think I should get rid and downgrade to a Porsche I hope it's all sorted soon Luke
The track scirocco does about 33mpg on the run to the ring - in considerably less comfort though, I suspect Lower gearing next year will knock it down a bit nearer to 30. On track it does about a gallon per lap (13mpg?)
The car was supposedly ready yestesrday. They wanted me to go and collect in person to apologise for the time it took. The owner of the bodyshop showed me around the car. There was a dimple in the prep work on the bumper that you could spot from 10ft away. There was a paint run on the n/s arch part of the bumper. The paint was also very thin on the underside of the arch lips. Rejected the work and waiting for them to respray it again. On the upside, they have sprayed the bumper off the car only, which is even more frustrating, as this could have been done weeks previously making the car ready earlier. The paint match appears perfect. Lets hope the 2nd attempt is better.
Looks like the great service when parting with your cash went down the toilet when they wern't selling you something. Dealerships I still prefer a good independant specialist. Gurds
Woohoo. 43 days after the accident and we have our baby back. Took 2 attempts to spray it, but we are now extremely happy.
Yeah, the finish is pretty good. As good if not better than factory now. At least Bedford is on. Which is the main thing!!!
