i havnt posted on this for a while!

not got many pics but i got the bay painted and the subframe put back in... im now running a mk3 rack so it will match up to the mk4 column, i just fitted the mk2 tie rods to keep the original mk2 'track'

also started to build up the engine, ive got the g60 flywheel and vr clutch on so just need to get the box on (might do it tonight) and i also put the passat rear bracket on after grinding the side out, i had to do this to allow the oil feed pipe to pass through.

with the wheels, i think im going to get the discs and hubs re-drilled to 5x100 ans then get adaptors from there, then i can also run a set of 5x100 steels

    talk about stance

they were taken weeks ago, ive done more but havnt got any pics yet

i also found an ecu which has a re-map on it already, hopefully will be running 280ish bhp, should be fun ;)

forgot about this! its been over a month Lots of Love

ok so the dash bar is tacked in now, it was only tacked in because its very messy, basically we used a plasma cutter on it and it just melted it Lots of Love. so it will be redone (hense only tacking it)

the pedal box is now in and the hydro clutch is sorted, the pedal box had to be modified slightly as the mk4 steering column was catching on it.. it had to be cut back and i made up a box section to put back any strength that was taken out

got the shifter in as well :p

ok so the rust, there was rust on both inner wings so made up some plates to be welded in after the rust was cut back and treated..

there are now welded in and sealed up i just need to get the pics up..

and yesterday i found some more rust <_< it was on the rear arch just by the chassis leg

got it sorted straight away though, i didnt want to cut the whole pannel out as its on the chassis leg so gave it the por 15 treatment

Damn dude, car is looking good. Glad to see some progress! I haven't had a chance to work on mine for over a month now. Gonna get into the garage this weekend methinks! I've still got a fair bit to do.

Have you got hold of a longer UJ or is the Mk4 one long enough?

    opp hello

power steering pump is a bit close to the cross member though lol

i had to change the driveshaft flanges on the gearbox as the mk4 ones were the wrong pcd for the g60 shafts to bolt onto. i just swappped them over for mk3 ones seem to work lol

i picked the loom up the other day, its pretty much a full custom loom? basically its a full tt/g4/s3 etc loom with mk2 light looms joined in and connections for things like mk2 electric mirrors and windows, all the unessencial stuff has been taken out like airbags and all that boring safety stuff

ive layed out the loom where it should be and reamed all the plugs through to where they should be i had to enlarge the hole where the loom comes through to the engine bay because some of the plugs were to big lol and ive also removed the plate for the lhd heater matrix, the engine loom comes through here...

engine loom through the lhd heater matrix vent

engine bay loom, comes through the other side of the bay than the original mk2 wiring just had to take the bungs out and enlarge the hole abit. bit of a spagetti junction at the moment lol

    Any updates dude?

Just read the entire thread, doing a cracking job! Great inspiration for myself as I'm going to be doing the same conversion (audi engine) into my Mk2 in a few months!
