    Holy f*cking sh*t!

Forgetting the self-tapper for a second...with that much sealant on the outside (and it looks like some excess has been wiped off) there must be a ton of it on the inside! Bets in how long that'll last before dropping off and clogging the pickup...

Went round to a mate's place today to help him fit new discs and pads, plus new bump-stops on the back end of his 9-year-old Octavia.

As he was attempting to fit the new pads with a lump hammer, I suggested it might be an idea to clean up the rust from the carriers to make them a slightly looser fit... [:|]

Lol I seen someone put densal tape round the backbox of a metro to hold the tail pipe on

I said that's never going to work
I watched as he started it up 30 seconds later it had flames licking round the bumper
With him jumping about like a ****

    I was buckled
One of the council mechanics took it off and I welded a new tail pipe on it

You mean Denso tape, the greasy stuff you use to protect underground pipework? Bloody hell, That stuff burns like a forest fire even cold! A bit of heat and you have a nice inferno...
My contribution - I have an Audi A4 2.4 V6, and had a Skoda Octavia Tdi - there is a road near work which is IDEAL off-road stuff for a Jeep, but maybe not for either of the above. Bust the sump on the Audi twice, both times fixed with JB Weld (better than baling twine, you know!) and it held oil fine.
Bust the sump out on the Skoda 3 times, all fixed with massive amounts of epoxy and JB Weld.
Stuff does what it says - I sold the Skoda to a guy who only wanted the engine - after putting another 5000 miles on it without a drip. God help the next guy who puts a spanner on the sump plug to change the oil thought - it's a sump "drain" now, one twist of the spanner and a gallon of oil would just dropout of the 3" hole in the sump.
The Audi still runs fine, fella near me wants to buy it. He calls round a lot so I showed him the bodge. He's just gong to drop the sump every time it need a change...

I've done the sump bung out and oil on the floor
Oil filter off and started, shoots on the underside on bonnet and sprays it.
Shorted some mole grips on a Kjet fuel line once. That left me with some staining!
Have seen someone weld a nut onto a pushrod on a KA, it did quiten in down, but not for that long, the nut just wore away!

In my youth I was a bit of a scooter boy, and one day whilst riding my Lambretta GP200 into Nottingham the link that lifted the throttle slide broke. I needed to get where I was going, and found a mini mastic nozzle in the road. The tapered shape meant I was able to lift the slide just enough, then rode through Nottingham including various roundabouts and traffic lights using the ignition key to go faster or slower.

There weren't a great deal of hand signals that day...

Not really a bodge but more of a FAIL.

I PDI'd 2 new Hyundai i10s yesterday, both identical white cars.

They were both parked alongside each other this morning, one driven in parking space, one reversed in.

Manager called me outside to spot the 'deliberate mistake'

They both appeared to have the same reg number

Numpty here had put the rear plate off one on the other one and not noticed. [8(]
