Customer with a BMW 2.0d timing chain failure came in today asking if the cost could be cut as he wants to sell it once its done, explained at length that there were no short cuts and I didn't fit loads of new parts because I didn't get much for Xmas as a kid, he asked if the head could just be refitted (even after valve to piston contact) said I suppose it could but you'll have to find some muppet to fit it because I won't. Getting the same old "my mate says" so I ask what his mate does, fits windows evidently [:s]

years ago I did PDI the wrong car, same colour wrong spec & wrong fuel! - a sales man put the wrong key number in the car - I didn't check the chassis number ,I should of known by the paper work, wasn't until I'd seen badge on the back after it parking up - older wiser, and can't remember how to PDI

We sold 40 white and 40 black MK1 cabs to a leasing company, the YTS lad was given 80 sets of plates and 80 job sheets, instead of fitting the correct plates to match the chassis number he just fitted them on the first cars he found, caused a bit of grief lol

I had one a few weeks back. A freelander complete with kiddy seats in the back and two neatly cut seat belts, one had been stitched together with a bit of cotton, the other had been glued together. Both (unsurprisingly) fell apart with minimal force and the owner complained because I had failed them. Unreal.
