I was up on camp corner watching this. I have never seen an accident like this before jesus it actually slid along the fencing 10ft off the ground for around 20ft. My mum came down to watch me race for the first time and was standing next to me when it happened she when white as a sheet and was a bit shook up bless her. He was very lucky to walk away from that one it could have been so much worse
after watching that video it seems like it was only a matter of time , surly they cannot ley cars out at the same time with those evos?
or more to the point, seeing as there's only 4 EVO's and 35+ other cars.... Why let EVO's out with the rest. They are the minority qty. ClassB cars are not to far behind in lap times (well Wyatt, Tim and me kinda) 1m15s to 1m16s laps from our cars Would keeping EVO's (or any other class A car) on list 1a rubber, but letting everyone else run list 1b help matters? Should make faster classes B thru D, but I suspect class B cars would be in the mix big time with class A cars, which would be interesting. Once we're caught up off the line, it would be interesting racing between class A on 1a and class B on 1b tyres. wotcha think?
I think its ridiculous that those Evo's are on the track at the same time as everyone else. The speed at which they go is just massive! Defo should be split up. Have the CC people decided whos fault the accident was yet Bill?
F'ing hell! Thats scary! The onboard camera shows everything. There's nothing smooth or controlled about his driving style. Its more like watching a stock hatch race. His lines aren't even consistent. Loads of power and not much else.......
Looks like my driving in GT4 in my preped Nissan Skyline (800bhp and no driving skill) Straight line speed takes me past most of the cars and then it's off the circuit at a corner...
Not sure if it is just me but in the full video he seems to not go to the left at the start of Quarry like the rest of the cars but instead tries to cut straight to the inside every time. The one time he does go to the outside & hits the apex of Quarry he's bang on the rear of the car he is chasing showing it doesn't scrub off as much speed.
Be better off letting the faster ~(more powerful..) cars have better tyres Sounds painful watching that Evo - more tyre squeal than a Starskey and Hutch show. Nice slide on Quarry exit on lap one though
driving looks ragged... certainly not a seasoned pro! it almost seems the car is too much for him its either on or off!
Norris Evo Crash Probably a re-e-post, but matey sent me this link this morning. Got to love that first pic... http://www.migweb.co.uk/forums/car-talk/334359-simon-norris-crash-combe-yesterday-pics-vid.html
I've not heard. not sure if anythings happening post race. Presume if Chrissy has lodged a complaint then they would be obliged to follow through (and the offer of 1k from simon is conditional on combe finding him to blame)
A reason not to go to Combe any more IMO. Great fun but always worrying that someone will come clattering into the back of you and destroy your pride and joy. Feel gutted for the guy in the red Clio. Tough titties for Evo guy.
Either or. I couldn't actually tell from the video being as (s)he was obscured by the car they were sitting in at the time.

Now, I'm no track day fella (never done one) but am I right in thinking he wasn't using the racing line for most of the corners? Turn into apex way too early and then end up with understeer coming out? Don't know how difficult the circuit is to drive round but the other fellas infront of him seemed to be doing an ok job of it.
a good phrase in the biking world "all the gear, no idea" problem is he's a tuner, so he's out there to prove something, that his car is the quickest, unfortunately he doesn't see to be able to have any restraint.
