I've seen that cab before and agree it's as attractive as a bag of c0cks.

    LMAO!! class

I'm getting the impression that there isa big divide here. We have a lot of people who have shed a few tears over what I've said about their beloved scene and think I an satan incarnate, where as there are others who wholeheartely agree with me.

I can narrow it down into 2 distinct categories:-

Those who agree all seem to have subtle looking, but well sorted (i.e. tuned) dubs in thier sig, and a lot seem to be heading for the "less is more" or OEM look, or have a track project on the go and haven't bother to be cought up by this nonsense I'm talking about.

    The rest are gay.

Well I dont think youre Satan, nor do I give a sh*t about what people in the `scene` think.

But I cant imagine anything more dull than a show full of nothing but OEM look cars.

It appears I occupy something of a middle ground.

    Which is unusual, for me.

what about a field full of white walled, 2 tone, 13" ATS cupped crap then? because that how it's getting at the moment!!!

People daren't fit 17"s on a mk2 anymore for fear of being outcast by "the in crowd"

sorry, did someone just actually mention driving the car???

I thought they were just there to be dressed up like little girls do with their dolls?

as for handling....I will refer you back to the much hated 13" ATS's......I dread to think how they handle. In fact, I've been out in a mk1 slammed on 8x13"s with 175's o it, it was scary, the underbody was clipping the cats eyes, I was expectingit to just bottom out and slide off the road.

I dont want a field full of any single style.

    How dull.

It depends on who you talk to, the `scene` is full of cliques.

Theres a BBS/OEM `in crowd` who slate anyone for daring to not have 90 spec ... or BBS rims ...

    :)

More fool you for being `in` any `crowd`.

I`ve seen some BBS/OEM Golfs that look nice.

But after seeing the 30th BBS/OEM laden Mk2 in one day (Inters anyone ?) you get bored.

    Very, very bored.

yep inters was boring, i say crowd but i dont even own a golf at the mo. but my idea of a nice mk2 is a late atlas grey with bbs wheels. just what i like, i suppose it is boring but they look poohot to me.
i like mk1's a little more stripped and race spec though.

I dont dislike late spec Mk2 Golfs on BBS rims, some are very nice. But there are some people who think 90 spec/oak green/BBS/OEM is the be all and end all of the VW world. Anyone who dares to do something a little different (and by that I dont mean neons/bodykits/lexus lights etc, as they really are sh*t) gets slated. Woe betide anyone who posts a pic of their car on here with big bumpers and pre 90 spec trim ... good grief you`d think it was the end of the WORLD.

Yes, lets all drive late spec Mk2`s on BBS rims, what an interesting `scene` that would be. Everyone could go to meets and congratulate each other on how great the cars are ... despite the fact that the only way to tell one from another is the numberplate.

Your worse than a bunch of old women.

Back to the original point of the thread, I dislike poorly set up suspension, ie, when the rear of the car is almost touching the floor and the front is in the air, because the owner is to lazy to get the arches sorted or doesn't want to catch the odd speed hump.

    Just to add my 2c

Not all veedubs lend themselves for big rims.My G came with 7x15" ats cups on it,and while it looked good and gripped well,i found it drove like a sack of potatoes. Got hold of some standard 13" bbs that it originally came with and noticed a huge improvement.Less grip than the 15's,but much handles much better when it comes to cornering.
