aye [xx(] had enough of that for now...

anyway, another thing im not keen, square number plates, unless they are needed due to lack of space for an intercooler or sommet.just dont think they look right unless the car was designed with them.

Just an observation Neil, I'm not singling anyone out, but you only have to keep your eyes open on various threads to see the type of thing I'm referring too :)

    Hate about the VW scene?
You shouldn't do this you're sad if you do that attitude.

Some people are in it for the show and some for the go.

If someone can't afford to change engines for going the pod there's nowt wrong with stripping out the interior and getting the best times they can with what they got.

If someone likes track looks but doesn't want to risk it on track let them.

If someone likes retro, hey it works when done properly.

I'm planning on some cibie super oscar spot lights on mine for when I head up to scotland next august.
The roads round their are amazing and even better at night so I want to have goood visibility, does it make me chav because I've deviated from bbs, oak green and nowt else different?

read what i said in the first post

"I'm on about VW scene stuff that you just hate, or don't 'get'"

most of this stuff I just find utterly pointless and I have no idea why people do it, in just the same way that most people from outside the scene will see it as utterly bizarre behaviour.

at the end of the day, it's just a trend, a fashion, and it'll be laughed at in years to come.

just look at the 80's FFS....dear oh dear.....

I know that....;)and your car speaks volumes about your slant on this sort of thing.

saying that.....you did once have a set of ronal turbos......and I don't think I need to remind you that you used to argue with me till you were blue in the face about your 17" Khan's

The following are items which suck

    - Roof racks
    - Cars that don't get driven
    - "Flip" paint
    - 2hp hatchbacks with 8 pot brakes to fill 18" chrome wheels
    - stickers down the driver's door
    - cars that are too low
    - cars that people 100% pay someone else to build, right down to fitting an air filter etc. Get off your bottom and learn something and the car isn't truly yours if you didn't build it
    - in other words, most show cars suck
    - cheap coilovers
    - poo tyres
    - 020 gearboxes
    - body kits
    - fake carbon
    - white leather
    - any leather trim with different coloured piping
    - late model Mk1s with big tail lights pretending they're 75 models
    - people who call they're half @rse paintjob a restoration
    - grille spoilers
    - fake GTIs
    - fart can exhausts
    - the way germans pour beer with too much head

    And also:

    - Those VR6/MK3 chin spoilers - or whatever they actually are - mounted onto MK2 bumpers. In my opinion they look horribly wrong and spoil the classic lines of the MK2.
