as above... was racing a work collegue 2nite...im in a 1.6 8v 75bhp and he's in a 1.6 8v saxo... his car evidently much lighter than mine however im on 17s and have a full install and i was leaving him in around town i was quite surprised?? i had a bad start on the main road and he went past me but then we started again and i was edging past him but had to pull in...

any1 else quite surprised these cars are level power wise??

if i had a exhaust/filter and a front pipe blow out sorted id say id have him!

So did you have to move out the way for that old dude to pass you in his mobility buggy whilst you were racing?

im quite suprised, the saxo's are revvy little sh1ts,and as you say probably weigh a fair bit less.

ps:not everyone can have a big or "average" power motors probably due to financial/insurance/first car reasons [:s]

yes the saxo is a revvy little f**ker and quite rapid

riley im 19 we cant all drive 2.8 vr6's or the likes i was quite chuffed being able 2 take the saxo quite a step up from a 1.2 corsa...

oh well least the golf will be far more stylish than most of ur big lumped cars :p

    so true!

i hope this 'racing' was not in a 30 zone mr golfboy.

anyway...saxo vtr has 90bhp, weighs less than a mkIII, and handles considerably better...so he should have decimated you.

depends what you go for really, its normally a case of gaining mid-top end power and losing a little torque at the bottom end i think?
wilder the cam you go the more you have to stay at high revs...
