and this is all a load of cobblers! none of saw this race and making paper assupmtions on who should of won.
none of us saw it, but thats irrelevant in terms of who should have won. who actually did win isnt in question. its who should have, based on what the respective cars should have been capable of, thats under discussion. if miss daisy drives a ferrari 360 modena but wont go over 30mph I can beat her in my scirocco. Doesnt mean that my scirocco is faster than the ferrari though! now if the bloke wasnt trying, then he should have won. but there seems to be some confusion over this. and wez, I was asking if it was the same engine as my rocco, because I hadnt seen the mk3 bit in the title while I was guffawing at 75bhp beating a saxo VTR either: 1) thats no ordinary 1.6 75bhp mk3 golf 2) it was a very ordinary and probably not VTR saxo (or a fecked one) 3) saxo man wasnt trying / couldnt drive 4) the original post is a load of cobblers But not the replies! what i was trying to say in less words, i couldn't be bothered to type any more about it, as it is indeed cobblers
yep...and that they don't keep needing to be set up. basically a electric carb, but give much poorer throttle response.
my old 75bhp car used to stick to vtr's.... 1.4gs metro (my 1st car and was free off my uncle ) 75bhp in a tin shell don't know if the same power engine in a mk3 would do the same though!
you could probably put pedals on a metrol and keep up with a lot of things, they weigh so little jonboy I thought you were saying the opposite!
there's something just not quite right about this thread, for one... lighter car, more power, no heavy install - he would have obliterated a 1.6 8v mk3 golf and... full throttle gear changes? around town? from 1st gear into reverse or what? Edited by: darrynK
It only takes one person to step into the street at an inopertune moment. Things like that ruin others lives. I'm not saying i'm innocent but i never blat it round inner city/town long out of town roads are the places to do things like that. At least there isn't as much risk of someone ending up under your wheels.
would i be right in saying you passed your test relatively recently? (please say yes) we all did stupid things when we were younger, but trust me, stick to (well) below 40mph in 30mph zones...or you'll either kill someone or loose your licence.
