I kind of like the colour, its pretty retro! Everthing you see these days is either white, black, blue or grey!

chassis aint great but like you said.. 90s are rare never mind with quattro and funky colour  dont suppose you got access to a compressor? unearthing nasties is loads easier with a shot blast gun.. could even be worth hiring one for the day if its looking bad

are you just plating over the rust and not cutting it out?

oh and I think you should keep it yellow, it might come up nice with a good polish :p

Anyway, more rust removal, welding, much grinding still to be done... Yawn

Another crazy project you've got stuck into Rich!

Have you had the wheels off for a proper look underside yet?

he'll probably do that tomorrow and then decide to cut the whole back out and drop a v12 jag engine running lots of bike carbs :p

i'd do all the repairs, primer bits and then clear coat it. all the cool kids will like it ;)

Not had a proper look under it yet, got no axel stands since my MK2 is up on them collecting dust and getting no love, we've fallen out. I've got enough on my hands with cosmetic bits for now anyway [><]

And it's not staying yellow goddamn! [:p] Jag engine sounds like too much work, S2/URS4 engine will have to do [:*:]

    I'm just mad about B2 [:$]

Finished off that rear light area, I'm actually really happy with how it's turned out [:D]

Not perfect but the best bit of bodywork I've ever done! [:D]

Thought I'd tackle the bit around the rear quarter window after that -

10 minutes work came out spot on, well impressed!

Of course though for every hole I sort, I find 2 more :(

which I've now welded up, just needs grinding back and filling, and there's a trim clip behind the rear bumper that's about ready to just push through :thumbd:

I'm putting off doing the one in the C pillar since it's right above the fuel filler, I can't be arsed to take the tank out, and I don't have the best track record with petrol and fire

Will be picking up paint for it today hopefully, and I'm getting a US spec heckblende [8D] Stay tuned!
