I do H+T like Senna! cool!

not that I drive anything at the moment tho [:^(]

Senna used to kick Schumachers arse all the time before he died. Often in a slower car.

F1 European GP at Donington in 1993.

Senna`s finest hour to many people and without doubt THE finest lap in F1 history.

He was also racing a vastly inferior McLaren MP4/8.

Senna was and remains the most accomplished F1 driver of all time. Schumacher may have beaten all his records now but lets face it, modern F1 cars are simpler/easier to drive and 50% of Schumachers talent/success is due to the Ferrari.

I apologise, yes I am an F1 geek.

I can do it in the mk2, it's just a lot easier to h+t in Claire's car (and sounds 10000 times better at the same time) [:D]

I'm guessing thats the one where he was faster than everyone else even though they had stopped for wet tyres and he was still on slicks (the old fashioned ones with NO grooves) and it was p1ssing down, track looked like a lake

That sequence is awesome... A bucking, sideways monster car with 80s-tech tyres and brakes, and he makes it look so simple... I've watched it over and over, in complete awe... He's my hero [l]

Whilst we are posting up videos. I found this rather nice one of Derek Bell driving round the Nurburgring. He does the commentary as well.

    Here.

    Enjoy

The thing that gets me every time I watch GrpB footage is how much of a spectacle it is.

I would have gladly stood in mud, rain, snow and freezing cold to see them fly past.

Would I stand in the same conditions to see a modern rally car ?

    Would I f*ck [|)]

I`m afraid to say that the days of GrpB gravel eaters and F1 cars like the 1400+ BHP turbo monsters has gone and will never come again.

While they were more spectacular and looked fast, a modern WRC car is actually faster through the same stage as the old grpB cars, modern tyres, suspension and transmission all make for a quicker rally car.

On the DVD I bought, David Sutton says that they were an amazing spectactle and he understood why people trapsed through a cold wet british forest to see the Quattros thunder past with 2ft of flame coming out of the exhaust [:D]
