actually den is correct...it was called the european gp. basically theres only allowed to be one gp in each country, and of course the brit gp was at silverstone. so to get round it and have an extra gp in birtain it was called the european gp, it only happened once as germany stole the title from the following year i think for the nurburgring.

I think Prost didnt want Senna at Williams in 93 due to all the acrimony between them in previous years...88-91

Added to the fact that Senna was quicker & more of a risk taker & Prost wasnt getting any younger...the writing was on the wall for "The Prof"

If its his 1988 qualifying lap at Monaco then yes.

1988 was the final year for the turbo engined F1 cars and the McLaren MP4/4 was the pinnacle of that technology.

It was (IIRC) the Honda RA186-E with 2 IHI Turbos producing 800bhp in race trim.

It also won 15 out of 16 races in that season :)

    [:-B]

    sorry, gotta disagree there chris.

prost blatantly took senna out that day...senna had the move made and prost turned in way before the corner so he could take senna out. its very very obvious from the onboard footage on prosts car. the worst thing was tho that prosts car was actually undamaged and running after the collision, prost looked at his right front wheel and it was pointing to the right so he thought it was screwed, only when he'd killed the engine did he realise that his left front was actually pointing the same way....the wheels were simply turned! prosts biggest error, if he'd got back into the race senna would never have caught him. he won the title as senna was disqualified, unfairly IMO, after finsihsing first.

i don't blame prost though, anyone in a championship fight would have done the same thing, and senna certainly got his revenge a year later!

No, it was his pole lap for the 1990 Race..although the car you see in the tunnel is actually the 91 McLaren.....obviously a dodgy bit of editting..

    N/A 3.5 Litre Honda V10.....not a 1500 Turbo.

il take my anorak off now.. [:$]

wasn't it a V12 in '90 chris? i'm not 100% though, mclaren deffo used both honda V10 and V12, not sure what year the switchover was though, or which way they switched.

come to think of it, it does sound like a V12 to me.

But i'm not planning on searching for any - so it's still British! [:D]

Watched "Senna, Prost and Schumacher" just - we just don't get racing like that anymore! [:^(]
