as for cleaning the rain stains, i dont think i have the energy or inclination to be that protective over some pressed steel mascarading as self propelled transportation.

 

congrats on the repair riley. looks absolutely stunning (both before and after). glad you've kept another clean mk1 on the road!

Glad you were able to get it repaired to your satisfaction, it looks like it would be a difficult car to part with.

 

Thats a truely lovely mk1, but why not return it to totally original spec? Like changing the grill surround and number plates back.

dan,i still have the original red surround,was thinking of putting it back on

sadly the original dealer number plates were destroyed when someone fired my mk2.

was gonna take them to vag and ask about having em reproduced,or use a sign company.

went for the black/silver just to make it stand out a bit.

I would normally have no interest in a standard car - they bore me. But, in this case i would definitely put the right grille and plates back on it asap.
