Got the idea from sxoc where they have different GT4 challenges from time to time and my bro-in-law and I have been trying to beat each others times on the 'ring in a mk1. It's not as expensive to hit the armco in the game and brake fade is alot easier to deal with :)

    anyway, here's my effort...

    Can you beat it?

vw manufacturer's race. Can't remember which one...

I'm on 100% for the 3rd time :p Hardest part is getting all the licences gold.

i'm sure we used to have a similar challenge back on one of the old forums, i gave up as Tubs was alwasy winning by miles, i'm sure he was using the patented tubs stopwatch:lol:

but a great idea none the less!

    so what are the rules?

or will you set a weekly challenge?

Wouldn't be like Tubs to have a quicker playstation car or anything...

More weekly challenges to follow eg. 4wd car pre '95 lap of ring etc etc...

For this time I used a Turbo'd mk1 217bhp, qualifying tyres, and downforce. Thats the rules.

Yup. We did this a while back. Different car and track every couple of weeks. Spent ages on the same track going round and round trying to beat the times!

    yes.

any mods, tyres, gear ratio and level of downforce you want.

    I reckon a 7.15 is possible in the mk1.

I guess we could keep it going for a fortnight or so so those that want to try have plenty of time. TBH all I do these days in GT4 is drive a mk1 round the ring. I've spent soo many days of my life playing the fecking game it gets boring very quickly, hence the wee challenge.

@wez - You can use the steering wheel if you wish. I set that time with the control pad and using the childs view but if I was playing it for pure enjoyment or drifting I'd use the official GT wheel and the in-car view. I'm not as quick with the wheel but it's a hell of alot more fun.

Im away to pour another coffee and try for that 7.15 :p
