Hatch could be had up to 04 if it was a really late one...the mk5 estate didn't come until 2006, so there may be some on a 55 or even 06 plate, it does get a few odd looks at shows though when folks clock the plate lol

Gave James the mk2 another wash and wax last night, after spending a full weekend on him for 2 weeks in a row, paint work has come up pretty good for 20 plus years, and a bit of blacking on the trim, some leather cleaner and a lot of feed and he looks pretty good!

Will hopefully get him out for a run this week, I was hoping to be out all week, but went to change the pas and alt belt last night, only to find the ones halfords supplied are way too small! Not impressed!

Yeah it's Helios blue, as for a 16v vs 20v... The 16v is nippy.... But give it a couple of years and I expect there will be a 20v in there! As once you have had the power it's hard to go back lol... But on the other hand at some point my bro will get bored and sell me back the 20v... But that could be a long way off!

Cheers very much, should be looking good for curby hopefully. Next thing I want is a vortex spoiler like on my old one so I can have a neat high level brake light, had too many people nearly run into the back of me over the years in old cars with out them!

Been a busy day.... And not one the purists will like lol.... New rims and suspension fitted, not fully settled yet and needs the heights checking and tracking doing, but here's a sneak peak.

Speed line turbines from a phase one clio, picked them up for a reasonable price without scene tax.

All I have done can be reversed... But he won't be for sale now for a while...but my bro has already said give it a year or so and he will swap me name for vince lol, so I'll have the beast back, and turn him into a fast road daily

Looks better than I would have thought, given the OEM status of the car.
Sometime ago a user called anton28 had these same wheels on a big bumper'd MK2 w/2.9VR6 and I did not think much if them.
Somehow, strangely, these suit this small bumper car

They are a early 90s wheel so quite period and seem to fit well with the car, don't think they will make me any faster round curby though lol

Set the ride height today, and had the tracking set up, not fully happy with the mk3 top mount set up, so going back to the mk2 set up and camber bolts for a bit more up front.

Here's the pics, not been washed so not looking quite its best.

James went off to his new home back down south this weekend, another active cgti member who has taken on my original plan to restore him to show...

But the garage is not empty..... VINCE IS BACK!!!!!!

Plan is to evolve in to a more useable-stealth daily, reclying buckets up front, a rear seat back in for most of the time (cage is saved for tack days once sproglet is here..) and going to a 4 lamp set up up front.

I also plan to sort the towing eye set up properly, and redo the front bumper skin.. Then the g60 arches are going in favour of some normal ones so I don't have to run silly wide wheels to fill them.
