The S3 sportback is a wicked car imo, with enough room for a kid or two, it's smart looking but with bite. The sound of the exhaust and the engine note when you blip down a gear is sweet for a standard car and so addictive. The 4wd makes it so much fun too. Get a black edition for the bose and standard rims. Also, when you're bored of it, the engine's tuneable as hell, so you could even renew your vows with the old girl and start tweaking her. I test drove one and maybe should have been banned a few times over whilst doing so , with the quite young salesman grinning ear to ear. We ended up buying an A5 Coupe 3.0TDi Quattro Black Edition instead, which I'm ashamed to say is my fave current car (obvs after the 16v) mostly due to the engine & handling. Mate, because of the fact you've got the cash to do this and you want to indulge, go with your heart and not your head!
My heart saying have fun.. Now the money come from a relative and I know they worked hard for it. But after a house an a holiday what else is there.. I dont really fancy saving it in the bank for 2% I can invest elswhere but to be perfectly honest im just looking at it as if it was a gift (birthdays / Christmas rolled altogether) but I dont want to just waste it on jusy some car I want it to ve a car that I keep for years to come. Hope that makes sense
And this is the troublesome S3 i've been lusting over http://www.audi.co.uk/used-cars/used-car-locator/a3/2.0-t-fsi-quattro-300-ps/maidstone/604153930-143492.aspx?srcmdc=se_na_re_
Nice amount of power though mate. Did you have a look to see if any dealers had GTI's in stock for sale ?
That looks just like any other audi A3 out there and I bet it drives just like every other audi, nice, but boring and lacking any emotion. Not a car I'd imagine anyone holding onto for years and falling in love with. I'd be investing my 30k into something much more pleasing to the eye and far more exciting
You'll lose 40% in 3 years. Cheaper to lease one and swap after 2. If you must get an S3, look for some better deals. That one is almost as expensive as new. You can get a brand new S3 sport back for under 28k from Drive the Deal without even breaking a sweat. 3200 discount.
