not a bad idea by andrewgti, as long as you don't mind rust and sitting on the wrong side of the car!

Don't think you'll get a decent Delta for that money... for decent, looked after ones you're talking 6-12K

What about a CRX? not high top end but definitely nippy
Otherwise an old mid 80's Beamer..

And VW's are allowed.. Corrado G60?

The most performance you will ever get for 2.5k is to get a bike...for out right acceleration and 'fun' there's nothing that will come close....

You could easily pick up a GSXR1100 for that money and if that doesn't scare you pooless then try adding some nos.

I know they're not the fastest Beemer for that era, but the sound of that straight six is worth every penny.

but if you want FAST for your 2.5k....

    Toyota Supra (pop-up headlight model0
    3 litre Turbo

Fast, serious fun, comfortable, lots of toys.

AND it leaves you 1k+ of your budget to spend on mods/new tyres/ booze.

    Audi 90 2.2 20v Sport.

Basically a Mk2 16v engine with an extra cylider slapped on. 170BHP as standard tho probably conservative.

Might be tempted by a rover vitesse, my mate was doing one up a while ago and it had a hell of a lot of power, not sure what speed he got out of it in the end but he said it was a very fun car, and hes originally a VW'er too.
