Just checked and number 2 does go into the left hand pipe of the matrix, number 1 is where the return from the right hand outlet of the matrix connects.

Decided to fit the new water pump and cambelt today.

The only problem is i seem to be missing a roller i think ? The belt isn't tight enough!

I think im missing part number 06B109244.

Here is a quick picture of mine -

Does it look like ive fitted the cambelt tensioner correctly. And whats the metal bracket for on the side of the roller ?

Looking at these two pictures -

You can see they both have a different roller setup ? Which is the best for mine ?

Rich you are missing the cam belt tensioner!! It's the silver bit in picture next to the tensioner wheel, you have the two finger prong which comes off the wheel this gets lifted by hydronic pressure and it needs winding down so you can get belt right. I use a G clamp and a rivett to place into the tiny hole. I will check numbers

i was on my phone for the last post so pics where small, i,ve never seen this before but because you already have the pulley wheel would it be easier to fit the tentioner as normal. Just going by the pic of the red plate it just seemsto take a bit of slack out of the belt but the tensioner is still in place!! So am i missing something here, is it just a case of tidying up so someone has removed the tensioner (06B109477) but left the pulley. will have another search and see what comes up. Did you also see my other (sorry to hijack) post earlier, did you know where my pipe origionally went, it might now be a case of it being redundent as i have remove lots of bits ;)

I think that pipe maybe something to do with the DV or N75, not 100% though.

The red plate is just a case of tidying it up.

    I think i need this tensioner -

As i found this picture just now -

    And looking at mine -

You can see the outline of the tensioner.

Looks like the bracket on the side of the round pulley sits on top of this too.

yep thats the bit i was trying to explain, and thats the part number previous for that part, the shiny piston bit sits under that 'bracket' you have on your pulley wheel and forces it upwards so tensioning the pulley wheel, you obviously tighten up the wheel with the hex bolt you can see in the middle, i think i have a couple of spare tensioners lying around, if thats the case you can gladly have one if you like, i will let you know soon and if you want it i can just post it to you, watch this space

Going back to the turbo i have, it was quoted above that -

    Here is the turbo -

    So im guessing -

    * Number 11 can be caped off.

    * Number 12 goes to the DV, iirc ?

    * Not sure on where number 13 goes ?

Can anyone help with the above ?

    Cheers

I was trying to fit the turbo to my engine today.

Everything fitted except for the coolant line -

Once fitted to the turbo it kept hitting the block, stopping me from bolting the turbo to the exhaust mani.

    The part number on it is - 06A 121 497 G

Seems that this part is for a k04 and not a k03!

Also, i think my turbo may be off an Ibiza 1.8T, as it had a tag on it saying Ibiza 1.8T.

Will this matter ? Im sure they are the same as the a3/golf k03 ?

If your thinking mk3 ibiza then it won't be a k03s unless someone has swapped it mate
Plus the k03s only has 1 vacuum pipe to the actuator where yours has 2

    Ha ha no worries

As long as they are the same thats great. It seems to bolt up ok so that cool.

Just having issues with the coolant feed i have. Sure its a k04 one.

Just noticed this thread. The engine in the picture showing the "red plate" is mine. The "plate" is just a bracket holding a roller bearing. This eliminates the need for the automatic hydraulic tensioner which has been known to fail in the past causing piston/valve contact. All the belt adjustment is done via the manual tensioner pulley. Got that kit in the US from Integrated Engineering. Hope that helps clarify what it is.

    Thanks mate

Didn't know it was your engine. Just had it in a random 1.8T folder on my computer.

Looks really neat though, much better compared to the original one!

Great thread. I'm laughing at myself here, as I am trying to put a pile of bits together to make a 16V peugeot, as in just where you were at the start of this thread. Hope I get as good help as you have..
