my pug returns about 45mpg around town and it is often driven hard... on motorways it returns approx 56-60mpg on a different topic.. i filled up with performance diesel from BP and the car flew! noticable increase in pick up!!!
Right... TDI = 90 or 100 TDI = 110 TDI = 115 or 130 TDI = 150 (only usually seen on the Bora though, most 150 Golfs wear a GTI badge) So you've raced a 130 Golf in your VR6 and found it a challenge. Wait until you come across a 150. Cheers, Drew. Edited by: drew
who cares? I can't say I've evr come across any TDI, or GTI for that matter that's been anywhere near able to keep up with my VR6, and it's not even running right at the moment either. Just face it, you bought a TDI because you are tight and value MPG more than performance.
The 150 comes with a pretty handy six-speed. Which is part of the reason it's so good. Chippable/mappable up to 180bhp (and about 300lbft torque) for about 300. (+40 mpg!!) Invincible in the real world. The end of this thread is nigh.... Cheers, Drew. Edited by: drew
We can't all spend our money on jewellery, and gallons of petrol Phat, some of us have to save for our fuel... Considering the spec of your car I certainly hope it can beat ALL TDI's and GTI's. I'd go so far to say that what you have might almost be approaching a performance car.
actually i was making the whole thing up mate, cos i am in no doubt that a mk4 golf with 150bhp and a diesel engine is going to beat a lighter car with 197bhp and 6 cylinders
I missed out - Damn! 150bhp TDI has quite a few in gear times better than a Boxster S. EVIL. Could never live with a 4500rpm redline or poor "Barry boy off the line" performance though.
