ah i see what you did. you got the mk3 16v but then realised it was not safe to drive it in town, so got the vectra just so that you could move about?
That video is amazing!! Had me lol'ing for real. I've just collected a mk3 16v from lowrider and it's ace, I have a Mk2 8v and the difference is massive. Once I have the ABF in the mk2 it will be the best of both worlds I think.
hahaha! That video is flippin superb... even my bro, a pug 306 fan will enjoy this! ABF for the win! Ive really fallen in love with my mk3 16v, as already said, it is a massive step up in refinement, my car feels like new inside, but my mk2, while in good nick, was very rattly. I do miss my mk2 though, even though it was a driver with cam (completely peerless in the torque stakes) it was bloody nippy for what it was, must have been close to 100hp and in a 1ton perhaps less chassis, it was superb. I think in the near future, when I have more space and money im going to nab a mk2 8v gti, really good fun to drive if my driver was anything to go by, and very easy to tinker with! The mk2 wins hands down over the mk3 for handling, I cant even hope to chuck my mk3 around like I used to with the mk2! Definitely will have one again in the future!
That is the best thing I've seen, in the history of, the best things I've seen! Six Perlenbacher + antipsychotic drugs helps!
i bought a 16v from a guy off there having owned a 8v and vr. i can say im convert to a 16v. and here another video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06sHLRbRRyo&feature=player_embedded
In the last 18 months ive owned all 3 started with a mk3 16v abf than a 1998 vr6 and now ive ended back up with a 1996 Gti 8v anniversary.I think all the cars are good in their own way.Ive always found with most golfs including mk1s and mk2s which ive owned over the years some are quicker than others weather its down to how theve been driven by previous owners I dont know but just seems that way with my cars ive owned. My 16v abf had to be driven pretty hard to get her to move but by far my fav engine just loved the abuse lol.The VR6 was a bit more diplomatic very heavy up front but also really smooth acceleration throuh the gears and a awsome sound. But being honest my 16v felt quicker and more alive just my opinion but if you want the all rounder 16v abf all day.If your not to fussed about Bhp and driving to fast its little bro the 8v is still a sweet little car.If you love great noise and very smooth power the VR is great but be prepared to feed it lol.Its all down to what you want in a car
