Your not as daft as you look Dan! I was up across the road from your new house the other week delivering and saw nothing but young female uni students!!!
C'mon, there's only so much decorating to do! As promised a while back Dan, details on that rallycross Mk1 Jetta now up http://www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread.php?t=247235
Its more money than time Chris, got a carpet to pay for next, some roof work, list goes on! I've only been in 3 months and slowly making my way through it Once i'm straight i'll have some time and money for other things, but the house is top priority at the moment When the weather warms up a little i might clear the garage out and bring it over so i can tinker a little and finish a few jobs off like the pedals, steering, gears etc and get the manifold done. Then its time for paint Unfortunately the garage at my dads doesn't seem to have enough ventilation, so at present all the nice white walls and ceiling are totally covered in black mould, and with my asthma its not such a good idea to spend much time in there. Got some vents to add and theres a dehumidifier in there too as it was starting to get damp [:^(] I'll start to make some progress again as soon as i can as still miss driving it
Just a quick one - the car is still alive and tucked away in the garage back home. Not been touched since I moved away but hope to get started on it again in the next few months. Today Sambo sorted me out with a load of bits for the engine - turbo, downpipe, fuel rail, injectors and plenty of stainless bends and a fancy collector to make the manifold. The plan is to finish off the pedals, shifter and steering column, do all the various fitting jobs like shifter cables, pipework, exhaust manifold etc, then strip it all down and start on the paint. Something to keep me busy over winter..... It will be back one day, just a bit later than I anticipated!!!
OK - nothing to get too excited by, the Jet still remains untouched I'll soon be building another(!) garage to house it in and move it to my house instead of it being 30 miles away at my Dads. In the mean time I've added to the fleet with a half-finished Corrado project that I've been working on. I'll update with some pics soon. Glad to be back
Good to see this back. Went to retropower for a look round last year, as there local, great lads who were more than pleased to show me round. Would love them to do some of the more difficult work on the mk2 but there's around a year's waiting list.
