Fair enough; I can appreciate the originality flex if nowt else...

P6000s have been around forever and IMO there are better alternatives for the money.. have also read a few horror stories about them suddenly breaking away in the wet - watch those roundabouts ;)

Anyway, sure they're better than what you had on it before though..

I feel your pain on the tax too; mine also runs out at the end of the month. 6 months tax on the credit card at some exortionate interest rate then, methinks [8(]

    Hi guys

    My problem
When staring the car from cold the choke comes on and the revs sit at just over 1000RPM which i looked up is normal. then after driving for a bit come to a stop or junction after about 5mins and the car is idle at 1800-2000RPM and it dose not go down unless you turn her off is this a sticking warm up valve sticky choke? i don't know much about K-Jet please help

Dont konw if this is to to with the above problem but some times after driving it a while when it is left for a bit when i start her back up it sounds like it is miss firing and wont idle until i rev it a bit then it runs normal.....

could do with some help ASAP as atm my MPG is down the toilet

sounds like both probs are caused by overfuelling-it sounds like the car is not recognizing that the engine has warmed up.

perhaps its the sensor that controls the 5th injector thats failed?(am guessing).

so you could try disconnecting the 5th inj.,see if that improves it.

ive always run my golf with the 5th injector disconnected at its feed at the starter-motor,don't think it's cold enough in this country to need it,mine starts fine without it.

id forgotten about the wur,i'm afraid i don't know how you go about testing that thing, but it does seem another likely suspect for whats wrong with your car.

Started the car up today Cold with the WUR unplugged still idling high [:s] so the WUR is rules out it is booked in a a garage down the road who know a lot about K-Jet Mechanical engines, if i didn't need it for work i would probably try and fix her myself but i need the car..

    will update soon

doesnt rule out the wur chap, could still be faulty internally. the plug is just for the electrical heater side of things, it will eventually heat up due to engine heat. to rule out the wur you must do a full fuel pressure test using the proper k-jet testing equipment

What a time-warp! My dad had a K-jet gti when I was younger and it was a beast compared to my Digi I now own.

    Bit of an update

got the car back today its been at a mechanical specialist garage the past week its been pressure tested and had the mixture reset ad it was running too rich on idle.

got a emission read out from this evening

    Co2 % vol 12.73
    HC ppm vol 163
    O2 % vol 1.18
    Co % vol 1.315
    Cocor % vol 1.40
    Lambda 1.009
    Engine Speed 1/min 863

running fine now going for a re test in a weeks time to see if it need tweaking

Now for the not so good bit

After inspection of the idle problem the Auxiliary Valve dose not open up enough on a cold start so it will need replacing if it continues not to start on a cold day. looking into it this part is not cheap [xx(]

The other problem is the Distribute moves around alot when the car is running something i have not noticed before but the pin might be bent so that will need to come out and be fixed just need to get the part number off the side,

    Will update some more soon

Done a few bit the the car in the last few weeks

Iv fixed my bumper which had a broken bracket that made the bumper knock the side of the car at motorway speed.

I got a mini blow torch of a mate, the old bracket came off with a screw driver and some snips, I then melted the plastic lugs with the blow torch and made a smooth surface with an old knife so the bracket would sit flush to the bumper, I then heated the plastic up and used a nail as a guide hole for the screws to follow, Then screwed the new bracket on, which cam off my old front bumper of the other golf, Not a bad D.I.Y job beets getting a new bumper,
Also re fitted the rear wheel arch a bit better it is a real mess under there going to get a quote to repair it before winter hits treated it with some rust stuff should keep it at bay till the repair,

While the bumper was off i cleaned the body kit up, no sign of rust or rot under or around it which is good and the bumper itself is still solid  I also had a trip to the stealer's and picked up some new number plates front and back for 9.98 inc V.A.T [:D] (its not what you know its who you know)

Iv needed some new door handles for a while after realy pulling my driver door handle off the other day,
found a guy on ebay called volks bits after ready good feedback about the handles and now good the were one guy said there were like V.A.G handles, i decided to pick a pair up 14 posted,
Got them through the door what a pile of [:x]**** they were so bad they wouldn't ever line up with the hole in the door to screw them in, never again will i buy cheep

So back to the stealer's on a very slight not hop full chance they might have some, Last two but a a sickening 48.98 for the pair, take that bank account [8(] may have cost alot but they look the part and fit like a glove

sorry in advance for the lack of before pics but i always forget ones im working to stop and take some

Bit of shoe polish don't mock but this works a treat

Another thing i got sick of rain water running black streaks down the body work when it rains
so i went round the hole car with some shoe polish window rubbers root guttering ect brushed it in left for 10mins then buffed it with my polisher. i was shocked how good it was after all the products i have used to try and rejuvenate the back rubber and trim on my cars,
Its not that good on bumper trim, but if you got an old style spoiler the textured ones it they come up a treat also good on rubber mats.

Guttering before on the red golf because i had not before pic
