Well December has come and it's nearly done and still no flipping bumper iron. What is it with some of these so called fabricating companies who open their big trap and promise you the world and can't back their mouth. I have approached 2 well known companies to make me a custom bumper iron and 3 months down the line sweet FA!!!. So i am at the mercy of club gti to assist in finding someone who can back their words and make me something similar to this.. Please help as at this present moment in time fluid and lighter comes to mind
Give Sambo a message he's well connected and a nice guy to boot Plus he travels all over the country often down I London I think Been missing your updates Try toyotec for help with local knowledge
Ah, sorry, didn`t appreciate that. That one just looks like tube and 2 pre-formed 45 and 90 degree elbows with some plate on each end. Isn`t there anyone local from the Club with a welder ? You buy the bits, make the plates etc, put it in place and marked up, then just get it welded. If that`s something you can do, surely we can sort something out ? Ideally, you`d want to clamp the end plates to something solid before tacking to stop it deforming, but that`s all.
Semi local to you would be Style Dynamics in Hays. They are our sponsors and can create that component and do it very neatly as well.
Starting as i mean to go on so started to drag some things out the cupboard so the lupo build can commence. At present it will be all about space saving and deleting items that are not needed. So first thing to go will be power steering unit and i will be fitting this item in it's place.. Time will tell even though it seems to be big in the USA
First of many space saving power sapping deletes. No power steering fluid to leak. No hoses to burst. No fluid bottle. No pulley to nick power from Crank or superchager... Installed and ready
Still moving along nicely. Theres alot to be said about keeping things simple. Best way. All the best for the new year H.
The supercharger has nicked the space of the alternator, the alternator has nicked the space of the power steering pump. PS pump binned.
Cheers H. Will be starting again very soon. Hardly did anything to it last year. Just bought a rotisserie to do underneath. Dreading it. Got to be done though!
