Yeah it could read like that, if you did not know both parties. Thing is these two guys have been in the London meet, proudly displaying both their Oak green MK2 cars next to each other back in April.

    :)

So I am happy to step in and and look after the interest of both of them.

We will get it sorted and both guys seem decent, though both may not be as up to speed mechanically as some of us.

The poor response ( time to react to desired acceleration) was actually engine map related as the WOT performance seemed pretty 20vT ish for the boost that was run. G_whizz did state this in his ads that were not only on here, that the car need a "remap".
Probably not a remap as he put it but perhaps a bit of tweaking my style.
As I said it is all cool and it will get sorted.

Holy mother of Joseph.... I think ive done it.

went out to the car and straight to the wiring. went to the coil connectors and unravels the protective tape.
and the brown wire just popped out of the connector.

i place it back in and quickly connected everything and hey presto it ran.. (not very well as alot of stuff unconnected) but it ran better than it has. i checked the injector and unplugged it and the car goes to stall same as the rest.... which it never did before. if i wiggle the brown wire it starts to miss again.

whats the best solution to fix this. as the clip is broken the wire wont stay in the clip?

And i have no idea where to start.

do i just replace the coil connector. if so where do i cut and chase new wires in etc

    i see your views fasteddie.

but im as much to blame, i should have checked the car over more. but if the car was running and driving (i thought ok) then surely thats all you can do.

I dont want anyone to be anti Graham he told me what he thought was wrong. and i took that on bored (spoken and met him a few times and his a good bloke ) that another reason why i brought it.

he did also send me replacement coils but did say he thought the clip was the problem (i did look but obversely not hard enough)

Any way i think the problem solved so no harm done.

    Much love

    Well done [emoji106]

You can remove the pin and get a repair wire from dealer. You can remove broken pin from the plug with a terminal removal tool.

Strip, solder and heat shrink join to make robust.

    You did it! Well done:clap:
The connector should be replaced as the securing clip is broken.

The pins are removable or you can go the scrappy and get one with a bit of wire pigtail and solder it on to the existing loom.

Thought the problem was something like this!

    Good work sticking with it!

Are you able to go scrappy? Might be worth giving your local dealer a ring. You could be rippin about in it today! [:D]

The plugs are cheap from VW and it was dead easy to do. They do a wire repair piece with the pins already on, you just cut it back a few inches and solder the new bit of wire on.

i like toyotec idea of "scrap yard" cut one off with some cable. but no scrappy.

maybe take richard idea and buying that loom cut off the whole coild section and solder that on

For a repair like that, if a connector is not readily available, I would get the same sized pigtail and clip from another connector

    Like this

Remove with the special VW tool I have here or the equivalent

Remove the remains of the broken pin in the connector with the tool, refit the new pigtail
    and solder to the loom.

Start validate and then take it for a rip!
