I've always found that the lighting and relections on a car always look really nice if you take them on a sunny day , just when the sun starts to go down a little and the light from the sun has a slight yellowish tint. The result is a bit like the pics taken by Icy above of his mark.3. As you can see dark or rich colour cars looks really nice taken in this light! Make sure you don't get a shadow of yourself in the pic though!!
As ive said before Recardo, really nice image, love it loads! Whilst out today i was messing about with my phone and took a picture of a standard golf (but i was in the car, moving) Think it looks mad TBH And one taken from inside my sisters arosa, trying to make a vag image, taken from a vag, of a toureg, with a new A3 behind, but i was kind of too far away to get the toureg and i missed the A3 Sam
It's not a photography question but is there an easy way to take a photo and create an effect like the pictures below using Photoshop? will try and find a better picture Edited by: AndyT
Yeah, but photography is an art, photoshop is development.... Bonding the two together can create amazing finishing touches, but still, just taking photos can be as good! Sam
Here is one photo i took whilst on a walk the other day in coventry.... Number 1 (the original image!) Number 2 (Mixed between coloured and black and white) Number 3 (purple outsiding) Number 4 (all black and white) And thats what i meen about developing your photos to give sometimes better and somtimes different standards Sam
for me, the best car shots are when you are level with the subject, well, for anything really, not just cars, but also just below eye level. evo 6 at eye level: mk3 just below:
I get what you meen, i do like it when there are images of cars where the camera is placed on the floor, then taken, it gives a really good effect, and the tarmac/grass comes to life Bit like this.... Recardo - reminds me of you that car! Sam Edited by: [SAM]
i tried the similar idea to the above, dont think the background and lighting was the best and it was before i lowered it more at the front! neil.
distance also has an effect on DOF. the further away the target is the more DOF you have at a given aperture and focal length
I quite like thispic. moving the caar a bit further away from the wall, moving the camera back and getting down lower would make it an ace capture.
Just got my new camera Olympus [mju:] 300 Digital all weather 3.2 Just off out now to go take some decent piccys.... Heres some i took on the way to work of Hot's evo and Ste's clio! Sam Edited by: [SAM]
These are some pictures i took yesterday, once i had read the book and worked out what modes do what etc! Firstly some flowers in teh grannys garden.... And some of Shibden Park, where my dreams of hosting my own mini VW meet are getting closer (Up a tree) Sam
I think you have the same problem as me, i just cant stop taking pictures! Appart from yours are all of your car and myn are of random scenery and people as i dont have a motor [:^(] Sam
on a slight tangent from the static shots panning the camera to keep the car in focus while blurring the background to show the speed. if the camera doesn't have a fast autofocus you pre-focus on the spot where you will take the pic, keep the shutter release half-pressed, then pan with the car until it reaches your spot and *click* click the thumbnail for the full image...
