Only got a chance to update this now

Trackday last sunday went very well, few minor tings but nothing major.
V-tec was only working intermitently in the first session. it was bringing on
the Engine Management light but i forgot to bring my laptop.
Went out for second session and it went perfect so all was good [:D]
Went without a problem all day after that apart from alternator packing up half
way thru the last session. So all in all a very good day.
Car handled brilliantly on the new Intrax, great mid corner grip, made it little stiffer during the day when switched to the slicks (was eating the toyo's off) Great power
and spectators say it is fairly quiet from outside so you wouldn't really cop the Honda engine :p
Forgot my camera on the day so didn't get any pics or vids of her in action,
but took a few when got her back home that evening.
Also ordered up a Kazz diff and Gear X 5.46Final drive for it yesterday as gearing is
bit long for the track. I wasn't even getting to the limiter in 4th on the longest section
so with new FD i should be nicely into 5th and much better acceleration lower down the gears.

Few pics of her that evening

You were fairly getting stuck in there!

So anymore comments on the suspension? From the vid it looked very good.

Was the car on slicks in the vid and what spring rates are on the shocks?

Gearing looks pretty good imo, and would be great on a bigger track. You going to be racing at that track only? If so, then the new F/D would make sense.

    ITBS next please! [}:)]

After all, the spectators did say it was on the quiet side...

    Cheers lads,
Suspension feels excellent altho when we spec'ed the spring rates it
was for R888's but running slicks already as found R888's to be **** and
only last few laps so tink will have to go harder on the springs.
    At the mo they are
    Front : Helper Spring = 80/20 Main= 180/80
    Rear : Helper Spring = 80/20 Main= 180/60 All in KG's by the way.

Most of the Races will be on the shorter version of that track. About minute shorter
we'l also be heading up North for 1 race and across to yew guys for 1 or 2 during
the season but that won't be till nxt yr.

It could nearly do with a 5.83FD instead ot the 5.46 it has but then i would never
get off the line (standing start)
Very happy with the KAZZ diff aswel, transformed the car out of corners.

 ITB's not planned for yet. I'm gonna make a airbox right behind the L/H headlight
and make up a dummy for light with holes. Air filter at back of engine bay at the mo.
It should be alot louder when airbox is made up.

I'm also gonna put the new oil cooler at a angle back behind the R/H headlight.
Another prob i have is im not using the full potential of the engine, staying in 2 high
of gear cuming out of corners when should be down a gear and reving the nuts off it :)
I'm a TDI man but im getting the hang of it

Still toying with engines for the mk1, build the mountain bike up (4K+ and counting) so now its time for my mk1 to get sorted!

Just noticed this thread, very nice work and components put into this.
Loving the tubular front wishbones and steering arms as well, should allow for a ton tweaking to get the perfect setup.

@ mk1g60turbo ye i went for a Kazz dif (great piece of kit:thumbup:)
I also put in a higher final drive.
I went down to 16" wheels aswell so gearing is not just 100% so tinking
of getting a full close ratio gear set. Ben busy on a online gear calculator
and the gear kit seems to be spot on for the circuit i race on.
Still busy doing suspension tweeks with her aswel but heading in the right
direction anyways. I keep knocking a second or so off lap times every
time i have go out so happy with the progress.
I'm looking into an adjustable front anti-rollbar for her aswel, maybe a
VW Motorsport item if can be got.
