Finally made a decision to get the corrado back in action.
stripped down 2nd engine i bought last year to start the rebuild.
crank is fu@@ed so gonna get crank from the blown engine checked, think it is ok.
Dropped bare block and head up to engine man.
Block is getting the slightest bore just to make sure the bores are 100% round since it getting new Wiseco pistons.
full list of parts engine ks getting is as follows
Wiseco pistons
K1 conrods
Race bearings
Arp head studs
Genuine honda headgasket
Supertech valves, retainers, double valve springs
honda timing chain
honda chain tension (with moddifications)
New honda oil pump
head with get some flow work aswel

I bought a standard gearbox which ill stick a higher FD and diff in to get it back on grack and then look into a sequential.

A good mate bought Derek Tohill's European RallyX championship winning Ep3 civic gpN spec and has van full of spares including 2 damaged dog boxs, A Drenth ( which needs 3k spent to fix) and another make which just needs about a grand or less to sort.
he has a few spare diffs and FD's so gonna use some of them for the time being.

Plan is to have corrado out on St Patricks day track day here along with the above civic which i'm getting ready for my mate aswel.
should be bit of crack with both cars out.

Plan is to get up and running in the next few months and then out on track, might do a few race events aswel.

Also bought 99 ford fiesta 1.25 zetec to compete in a 6hr endurance race on 30th Nov. The misses is going to race in the Fiesta championship nxt year aswel. Started last due to a qualifing cock up but finished 13th and car never missed a beat so happy enough.
My misses a friend of mine and myself did the endurance race. Fairly tired after a 50min stint.

Moved the corrado for the first time since mid 2011. Moved it and the mk1 around so could work on both. (Gave garage a tidy up when was at it)
Put the front up on axle stands and took off the front.
I won't be using the front subframe again as gonna make a tubular instead.
list of jobs to do
Moddify or make new engine/gearbox mounts to stand engine upright for dry sump.
Mount dry sump tank in passenger footwell.
Mount remote oil filter housing and new oil cooler.
Plumb in the complete dry sump system.
Fit vr6 front outer cv's/hubs and bearings (still have to redrill the hubs to 4x100)
Fit powersteering of sum sort (either corsa electric on column or opel/citroen electric p/s pump and use original p/s rack. Opinions on which welcome!!????

Also think I need to up my spring rates (currently have 570lbs front/510lbs rear) prob need to get my shocks revalved aswel as when got the shocks first
they had 460lbs front/340lbs rear.
Also wanna weld in a set of seat mounts for a passenger seat for the odd track day.
Ill stick up a few pics when photobucket stops acting the fk.

Got the engine and gearbox back into the car to start mocking up dry sump hoses etc. Still have to make up the new solid delrin mounts.

[IMG][/IMG]
[IMG][/IMG]

Still undesided what hose to use as too many to choose from and the price changes drastically

Wishbones stood up 100% to everything i gave it apart from the crash (bent main arm) but can't complain there as it broke the rear suspension completely out of the civic i hit that day (not my fault :-) ) had to fit 2 new bottom sperical bearings at end of season but that the be expected.

Got a new engine mount made for right hand side. Made it from Delrin with a steel inner bush. It worked out a treat and engine barely moves with just it and a standard bush on the gearbox, which is nxt in the list. These will fit mk1 golf mounts as the outer steel section on both mounts are from a mk1.

Brand new Bollverk 5sp Dogbox.
Major thing I like about this box is that none of the "dogs" are part of the gears instead they are a separate piece that is slid into the gears on groves. This leaves it a very affordable box the service as I can just buy the dogs and dog rings. Also there only 2 different sizes of dog and rings in the box.

Once I get the box fitted I have to modify the front wishbones as the ball joint extenders are binding on them with the camber and caster I'm running.
Also need to finish off the modifications to the exhaust manifold, make a new rear gearbox mount and make a new front cross member to hold the Rad.

I got the gearbox all built up and fitted.
Also made up a pair of 12mm steering lock stoppers for the inner tie rods. Wanted to reduce the pressure on the outer cv's on full lock so this was the handiest way to do so.
Also got a new 21.5mm front anti roll bar off vw (only 85) so worth getting it to try out.
Finally bit the bullet and ordered myself of corner weight scales, should have them early next week.
