Started out with a black L-reg Renault 19 1.4 Rte. Kept it standard cos my Mum used it too and didn`t want drive a `boy-racer`s car`

Next up was a P-reg Honda Civic 1.5i Vtec-e. Man that was rapid! Used to scare my Dad sh*tless in it. Only got round to fitting 16" Wolfrace Urban 5`s before the repo man took it! [:^(]

Next was an R-reg Rover 420 Gsi in silver with all the toys; electric everthing, leather, cruise, the works. Only mod was a 4" Jap backbox (I convinced the missus that it was cheaper than a standard one) and it sounded mean!

Eventually I saw the light and got a J-reg Mk2 8v in grey. Managed to fit some 17`s ( ) and lower it before some thieving f*ck-stick had away with it!

Now rocking another 8v (C-reg this time) and it`s gone through some changes. Colour change from Red to Black, suspension, wheels, custom exhaust, Recaro front seats and (yet to be fitted) Corrado rear bench, crosshair lights, Momo steering wheel (with Snap-off), various mechanical bits replaced (not through choice either!)

Hopefully I`ll be getting a Caddy soon, so I can have something to smoke about in while the Golf has it`s engine transformation!

D reg White MG metro 1.3L - fantastic car, but blew the piston on the engine
F reg White Vauxhall Astra Merit estate (3 door) 1.3L - Pig to drive, brakes kept seizing up and at one point the grakes caught fire

Currently own:
J reg White VW Golf Driver (run out model, 5 door) 1.8L - Loved this car and served me very very well.. Gear box is now knackered and and the car isnt worth fixing at 165,000miles
G Blue Polo Country 1L - excellent runaround, kept me going from A to B while waiting ror my next car
F Tornado red VW Golf GTI 1.8 - my latest addition.. nice car, loads of grunt but having trouble with the coolant sensor light grrrr..

Hmm I appear to be getting older model cars now.. lol

 

Can't believe i missed this thread 1st time round, so as i'm bored. In order

mk3 1.3 escort estate in terracotta (looked like a plant pot)

mk2 Cavalier 1.6 auto (needed auto due to bike crash) horrible thing with velour interior

mk2 Astra 1.6sr fitted K&n, alloys, janspeed exhaust and then crashed it.[:^(]

mk1 fiesta 950 complete with fish, cheap and needed to replace above, hated it but it would never die no matter how hard it was thrashed

Alfa Guilietta 2L rs, red boxy 4dr saloon, but lovely twin cam engine and wooden steering wheel and gearstick (which i've still got somewhere) loved that car as rubbish as it was. never let me down but eventually just rusted away.[:^(] (also crashed that a bit)

MG Montego 2L not sure why i brought this i wanted a 309gti, but somehow ended up with a montego, wasn't actually that bad a car just a bit embrassing.

mk3 astra 1.6 (company car)

Tiger Super Six 2l kitcar (caterfield type thing) Fast and fun, Sold for my 1st Aus trip back in 2000, had it for 3 years and got the same money back that i paid for it. Loved that too. (1st car i did a trackday in)

Focus 1.8 3dr zetec (company car) 1st company car i actually picked and speced, liked it a lot.

VW mk2 camper (square one) in Pea Green, had for 2 months to travel NZ, broke down all the time, but met lots of nice people who rescued us and we got our money back when we sold it so all good!

mk3 astra 1.4 in sun faded red, dull car in more ways than one, Crashed (not my fault this time!)

Fiat bravo 1.8hlx Good car and a great spec for the money, nippy and fun to drive if a bit rolly, (2nd car i did a trackday in!) Sunroof eventually leaked but otherwise very reliable

VW mk1 golf gti, started as a shell in a barn and then built as a trackday car and gradually developed by me and my bro from a 1.6 8v to the 180bhp 2l 16v it is now, tracked all over the UK and europe and the ring, truly loved. (now sold to hypermonkey on CGTI to fund my current Aus trip[:^(] [:^(] [:^(] [:^(] [:^(] )

Honda Accord 2l coupe - auto yuk weird leathered up yank car (company car)

Mondeo 2l zetec (company car) I picked this too, really wanted a 156 twinspark, but knew it would end up letting me down and it would be the last time i'd allowed to choose my car. Boringly good, handled pretty well and went flat out everywhere

mk2 MX5 1.8is - Fantastic car, brought by GF, but i got to drive and fettle it, uprated ARB's and coilovers and race pads, tracked here and in europe and thrashed over the pyrenees.

VW passat tdi - horrible to drive and velour. (company car)

BMW 3 series 2td estate - Nice car, pokey and great fun to drive once i sussed out how to turn the traction control off completely (company car)

Another Mondeo 2l zetec - 1st car brought for myself for work. 100k 5yr old and 3 grand, but looked and went like new! (sold to dad!)

Subaru Forester 2.0 - hugely overpriced like all 2nd hand cars in aus and a bit tatty, but good fun to drive, amazing where you can take it without getting stuck and sounds like an old vw campervan.

Forget how many cars you've had till you write them down..

90 Mk2 16v completly standard low mileage car.

1st - Fiat Tipo 1.9td. Nice fast motor
3rd - Ford Orion - 1.6i ghia, updated eventually to full r.s kit, escort turbo engine, nice motor.
4th - vw golf gti (84 b reg ) immaculate
5th - 1973 1.6 ve beetle (twin carb engine beauty)
(and here is where i had some finacial difficulties)
6th - Kia Pride!! ( i know )
7th - Vauxhal Cavalier (2 ltr saloon)
8th - (back to VW!!) Vw Polo 1.4 with alloys, badgeless grill etc etc
9th and current - mk3 golf gti!

Was pretty much a Ford man until I actually worked for a VAG dealer driving then my cars were:

D-reg 8v Mk2 GTi in Atlas Grey a much abused and battle scarred beast which was written off
by a stray exhaust on the M1 at about 85 mph...

Then I got posh with:

J-reg 8v GTi in Schwartz black but this car was too shiny with nothing to mend initially so i choose a Mk1 to compliment it:

X-reg 1.8 8v GTi Mk1 in Mars red - this had a gas flowed head and so much of the body was rotten that it weighed FA - went like soas and was probably the fastest and most exciting car I have ever owned - sold due to a precious and overbearing ex who forced me into buying a:

Y-reg 1.8 Ex-GTi Engineering Car with Full Zender acoutrements.....nice car and the best handling golf to date...could have handled loads of power and I regret selling but had no choice...

Hillman hunter 1725gt can`t remember year old though drove it into the ground failed mot so drove it into a tree at 40 mph down the local scramble track with my mates in the car !
Ml 1 scirocco gti 1981 w plate lowered , konis , janspeed inc manifold , r,r tuned other mods to engine 3000 loan 3rd party ins wrote it off payed back loan for about 4 years !
Mk 4 ford cortina 1.6 popped 2.0 popped scrapped
Mk3 cortina bucket ! sat on my drive stripped it out then scrapped !
Vauxhall viva 1.3 nutty re spray with dayglo stripes stainless steel dash isuzu piazia alloys on the back wolfrace on the front fitted all runing gear from 1.8 inc engine and box ,webber carb , head work , cherry bomb exhaust went round corners on rails .
Ford zephyer 3L v6 webber flared arches swapped gearbox for 3L capri one nightmare job had to swap gearbox splines over lot`s of needle bearings and stuff moved up to yorkshire in this lasted about 6 months before i broke the g,box sold to dial a duck in Middlesbrough [:^(]
Mini bought from scrappers re built new subframes new doors , a panels f ,glass boot f, glass bonnet no heater (not good in yorkshire !) 1.100 engine 1.000 g box twin carbs ,head work, full sports exhaust inc manifold. buckets , wellers .very much fun and very fast !
vaux cavalier 2.0 L auto manta shape thing very fast wrote off going round corner on wrong side of road car coming other way evasive manouvere into fence and field !
Back to the mini .

Scirocco 1.6 gl spent a grand getting engine rebuilt by Engine fit centre in nottingham ripped me off didn`t touch engine place got fire bombed .Trading standards involved still didn`t get money back
Another mini this time with an mg metro 1.3 engine in bought the metro with no tax or mot just for engine got stopped by old bill on way home in Saffron walden started chatting to him about minis and that i had just bought the metro as a donor car he let me go without nicking me
Ford fiesta 1.4s used more oil than petrol smoked like hell
Series 3 1969 g plate short wheel base land rover did free partys so needed better field crossing vehicle than the rozzers ! took all the doors off and drove it round like it for months couldn`t lock it top speed of 75 very very thirsty 2.0L not practical swapped for renault savannah 2.0L turbo diesel blew it up !

recovered used for another 4 months front wheel came off on a14 after overtaking a lorry at 75mph had been putting off doing the top ball joint

Scirocco gtx 86 bought as project still a project 4 years later !

astra van p plate 1.7 diesel turbo standard but fast unmanaged turbo with the boost adjusted get some funny looks when overtaking at silly speeds !
