I'm game, I'd say Mk1 but not everyone has got one, so Mk5 Gti? I think they're freely available from new dealers. Happy to set a max power / min weight limit.

    Same, sounds a good plan.

I think this may have been already mentioned in the other thread

Bog standard mk5 with sports soft tyres is my suggestion.

Run it as a time trial style event, maybe 1 track a week and let points build up.

I'd go along with that. The basic races are the most fun and frustrating at the same time - the current seasonal event for example.

    - A no holds bared version would be easier to 'police' though

Personally I would rather do a proper race than time trial but im happy to do either.

But organizing a time when everyone can get online may be tricky..

Need to work out how to add some polls to this thread

Howsabouts a VW Cup style 'any VW' - real VW's not that twinturbo special based on an R32 or that concept that went on to become the Veyron etc.

The owner can set the car & bhp limit so if it's over you can't race.
    I've a tuned (lightly) mk5, about 250bhp I think.
I'm ok all with the above.

On the GT4 comp we just picked a car, anything goes with mods that way no one can cheat and then we just used nurburgring, someone sets a time and sticks a photo up, if someone beats the time then they stick a photo up, can set a last entry date and winner gets to pick the next car.

I havent even looked at GT5 online play so I have no idea if there is a better way of doing thing, online gaming confuses me:lol:

A decent standard car from the dealership would do, sub 100k I'd say to help those not far into the game. Time trial like the old GT4 challenges I did and you're sorted! The physics are that bit more advanced that it's not all about power (it perhaps is to get you around some of the longer circuits but...) and if anything, introduce the use of comfort tyres to make smaller tracks more of a challenge.

As you get into the game some big powerful cars are won, so these could be used in standard form and most should have them already, or slightly tuned using specific upgrades that everyone uses.

May I be so bold as to say:

    Mk5 GTi

    Mods - unlimited

    The 'ring -normal conditions

    "pics or it didn't happen"

    ? - I'll stick a time in tonight.

Personally, id love to do an online race with all you guys, but think that would be a nightmare logistically!

    Of the options, i reckon:

    Mk5 GTi
No Mods other than Wheels/Paint/Oilchange (to make it fairer, and if you've already done engine mods that cant be removed then buy another GTi :p)
    Tyres - Sport Soft
    'Ring

Not a perfect lap by any stretch, but a decent marker I`d say; 7:35.321
