I just bought a Mk5 and maxed it out for this so I hope where going to stick with it, havent played with any of the setup yet but did a couple of laps of the ring and did a 7:20.397 Can stick a video up but Its not very good quality.
Just got a 7:33 (pic to follow once I can fire up the laptop) 1st time around, only a small mistake so not sure where I'll find 13 seconds. I'm rocking the full tune 350ish from memory but it won't go over 155mph on my gearing, not really hitting the limiter ether, odd.
Iv got mouse traps set up all over the place as Iv been invaded and while watching Stu's vid I kept thinking I had a half dead one squeaking in a trap, I even went and checked twice, I did eventually work out it was the video....
Yep... I think we should keep it to first laps only, too. Nick`s second lap obviously started at a higher pace than the first.
I think I need to sort the gearing on mine too. Spins up a bit easily out of corners and could go faster down Dottinger. That and stringing a tidier lap together should see me closer to Nick`s time, I reckon.
Engine rebuild and chassis treatment at gtauto? That was the first time id used the car so it was at its best. I also find it much easier with a wheel and think I got an advantage with it.
I think it takes quite a while before you`d need a re-build on a new car. Ceratinly longer than your interest in the game would be so pretty much it`ll never need doing, I reckon. I`m just using the trusty Dualshock 3...hopefully I`ll get a comparable time all the same!
The votes say; `a race in a Mk5 on soft Sports tyres`. But since getting a decent amount of people together for a race at a given time is difficult, and it`s pretty much impossible to police restrictions on mods, time trials with a fully modded Mk5 is the way to go, as some of us have already started with.
I'd say just go for it, an online race where the only restriction is you must be in a Mk5! Sometime in the days off after New Year, Monday night or something?
Just did a 7:25, Plenty of room left for a better time, Was not a clean lap at all and i also got the gearing wrong. Topped out at 150mph down the straight!
Im expecting you to have beaten my time by the time I get home tonight then Then we can start to get this comp going
spunked all my money to do this and 20 seconds off pace, but that's 1 go at it, 2 crashes and standard tyres....
