nothing to do with ego, although no one complains if there car gets them attention. My friend bought one a couple of summers ago and they are just the most awesome cars to drive, he used to get people waving at him, people coming and talking to him at petrol stations etc. Different reaction to a ferrari where everyone just thinks your a t**t!!!!
lovely looking car.... fairly expensive though. Imagine what else you can get for that sort of money!!?!?!
crap thats what it is!!! sorry that is awful..... imagine it with a few dents and scrape's, and some really crap alloys driving round cyprus by some russian mafia guy with over 250k on the clocks!!
I'm lucky.... apart from my beloved Mk1s , I have my dream dates here.....Integrale , T-16 , Mk1 RS1600 BDa , Stratos and 037 and my personal fave...131 Abarth. We work hard!
Id have stuck with my minis as a old mk1 or 2 escort is out of my price range at the mo sadly, I loved that car to bits, it was suprisingly quick, but not as fast as i would have lived with out going mental... as for my daily drive, well i guess it would be something like a volvo estate.... as i need something that will do miles with easy but swollow all kinds of crap too
Well cars I've owned other than Mk1 Golfs include... BMW E30 318iS 4x Lancia Deltas Alfa Sud 1.5 Ti plus two Sprints Mini (proper austin one!) ...and a couple of Jeep Cherokees I've had other cars too but the above are the ones (other than my Mk1 Golfs) that were really REALLY good. Other stuff I'd consider would probably include the Lexus IS200 - got a bit of a soft spot for those.
For me it would have to be a Mk 2 Escort RS2000... ...or a Hillman Imp... ...or a Lotus Talbot Sunbeam (my Grandad worked at the Linwood factory )... ...or a Reliant Scimitar.
Probably a BMW 2000tii, preferably an early Seventies with the round rear lamps, like this one: or in that typical flourescent yellow: Saw a silver mid-seventies one today (wow, what a rare sight) with the square rear lights. Nice enough! Well, failing that, I'd still drive a E21, as I never liked the facelift version with the bigger rear lights and the indicators in the bumpers. Well, there are many Classics to be enjoyed, but try finding one in a decent condition... (which doesn't break the bank) P.S. Hope that's ok to link to those images in such a way. Tell me off, mods, if need be Well, talking about Mercedes. Just don't get me started... Well, where to start anyway: Fintails, Pontoons, /8 taxis, oh whatever it is, I'll have it.
