No not yet, I was awaiting any editing as you can now see the sump needs replacing so that's one bit they were right about.

I have yet to send the letter, I am currently facing having to sell the car & was unsure of whether i could still complain without the car. I've been advised by CGTI admin to get the letter sent asap, which I will do on Monday. With the holidays over I hope to receive a faster response than last time, so will keep you posted.

Fairly poor response, keeping well out of the technical detail.

What have the modifications got to do with it? What do they expect after 30 years?

    Trading standards?

This is a case in point why the motor industry has the reputation it has. If the franchised VW dealers cannot lead by example with some level of basic integrity - in this example they clearly do not - then you cannot expect any better from non-franchised outlets.

I think it's actually 29years old, turns 30 this year, but that is irrelevant as they didn't even answer the main points. Do you think maybe with it being the same guy replying, that he was a little worried about the reply & just wrote this to fob me off?
Im unsure of any local radio stations that do that, but it's a good idea though

find out what the local bbc station is and email and ask if they do any consumer help programes

sounds like a standard fob off letter

you might want to edit out your own details on the pics
