    I don`t think Mk1 outer CVs could handle anything more than 200bhp, TBH.

    that's why the big power mk1s tend to use mk2 subframes-plus axle etc

    yer i no but some one mush do a after market cv what will take more hp?
    i have seen some after market one what will take up to 500hp but thay will not fit my splines on the shaft
    what do people think???

    sorted out the rear breaks today as the syncro axle was originally on drums fortunatally the original mk1 discks what were on the car when i got it were perfect for the back so just had to line calipers up and redrill holes and put the short spax shocks on to

    spent some time today sorting out all the cv joints and boots got to get some more of them
    then went on eyeing up the exhaust but got to get some stainless wire for the welder before i can weld it propelry hope to have it all welded up soon

    have you got any idea how much vibration will be transmitted into the car with a solid engine mount?

    the answer is loads, the noise as well, sound deadening in the mk1 with a solid mount is crap basically

    we have to see wen i get it on the rode, then go from there i got one on my mk2 and that seem's ok

    I don't know if he does... But I do, I used to run one as a daily with ALL solid mounts and it's not that bad. It also got noticeably better when I re-built (the engine) and had it properly balanced to a fine tolerance.

    Used to undo bolts all the time though :lol: in fact I met my x wife due to the alternator falling off!
