Right then, fair enough, sounds like dusty mauve and mystic blue are VERY similiar :)

Nothing to worry about just need to tell the bloke about it..

he has said he has 69 watchers ;) and he would like it to go to someone like me....

Any how, he wants me to see it before the weekend as ebay finishes on firday...think you can tell which one im looking at! LOL :)

Will hopefully get to see it, but he dosn't answer his email very much!

bit of a trek for me, wouldve liked to have had a look over it.

common things to have to replace are bushes, dampers, gearbox oil, coolant. definately worth knowing when the cambelt was done last too. listen out for a noisy window mech as it goes up and down. if that dies, thatll cost 50 per side

once you get them running tip top they cost barely anything to run

^^ agreed cheap motoring. suspension top mounts are also flagged as needing doing at about 80k, not expensive but worth knowing etc cambelt should be done every 60k

ive changed mine. i now make an effort to park with the wheels straight so that the top mounts are not at funny angles

sweet ygs, all this info is great, if this car doesn't work out, im sure theres plenty more out there..

may take friday off to go see it.....its all a bit of a nitemare now.....as the guy doesn't respond to emails quickly and obviously has a lot of interest.....

thing is i don't want that to inflate the price, as i can only afford a MAX of 1800.

put up the ebay link, we will all message him saying will you take 700 buy it now sort of thing so he thinks its not worth a lot then go on friday and offer 1500 he will snap your arm off....

buy the way mystic blue takes half a second off your 0-60 time so worth extra

plans? proabbly nice deep dish wheels, i liked the look of mk4 lights, but need to see what they look like with some examples...maybe i don't like that...

just keep it pretty standard, won't want to put much on it, maybe a full s/s polish and keep it in tip top condition [:D]

mystic blue is not particularly rare, do see quite a few around

dont do the mk4 lights, they do not suit the car. crystal lights look chav too lol

mine is standard on the outside apart from a red stripe and a subtle headlight mod, like all golf, cosmetic mods just are not right

    wouldn't do crystal lights....anyway...

probably some clear indicator bulbs....maybe aero wipers if they do them? front and rear?

maybe a new grill for the front? nice wheels? drop it a little?

i think with mk3's you either have to go the whole hog and spend loads - smooth euro looks with wide and dished wheels... or don't waste your money and spend more on handling/power.... each to their own though.

Im just more bothered about how a car goes and stops than what i looks like

same here. im not convinced that bulbs and wipers are enough to make something as butt ugly as a mk3 look pretty, plus they dont make it faster so ive just left mine how it is

once you buy it... be prepared for all the "mk3 weighs as much as the moon" jokes

they are funny, cos theyre true :p

    bwahahahahahah

    ace stuff :)

Well im looking forward to it, probably smooth the box and stick a filter in it....

s/s and drop it and thats about it [:D]

just want to get a nice one sorted....hehe

id pay 1800 if it was triffic and had lots of spec.

whats the mileage again? mk3s are going to be super cool when everyone realised mk2s blow chunks :p
