generally an body shop that does a lot of insurance work will charge you loads more than a little independant place that does custom work, that is what i found. They charge the insurance companies mega so don't tend to want private jobs

worth getting a few quotes with bodywork. My mate got his mk4 fixed the other day, rear arch all crumpled - the guy repaired it, went into 3 other panels to blend it and charged him 200!!! bargain

Spent all day today cleaning it, got the tow bar off! Didn't get the actual big bar off and just cut the electrics off.......

put the old bumper back on so got a hole at the mo, but will get that sorted with the new bumper! :)

found some rust on the archy bit under the bumper but it isn't too bad tbh.

Got everything clayed and it really looks nice..............come up really well.....

yup both my sills were messy. i had to have rust at the top of the windscreen fixed. it was so bad that when it rained i was getting rain in the roof lining.

300 and they did a tip top job, even i couldnt moan about it

matt how do you find your tyres? you have parada's don't you??

been looking at some tyre's for the new wheels and I think 888's arn't the best option for me as I think the missus may want to use the car from time to time so need a decent road tyre really, had toyo T1's and I thought they were ****e so looking for something a bit different and always likes the look of them

    450 inc vat..

cut sill out and put new patch in where rust is....

two new wing mirror casings painted

    rear bumper painted

bubbling of rust on door sorted under wing mirror (put lead in it apparantly and paint it)

    not bad i don't think!

ive used them twice on 2 other jobs tbh and the work is top notch! Never had a problem...

its actually about 520 inc vat...he says i might need a new foil on the door sill bit (think theres like a plastic bit thats stuck to it) so might have to cost that in to it, and im also going to get 2 new window seals.

Il also let him double check under the rear bumper near the arches as theres a bit of rust there so he might grind that off and make it look better.....you can't actually see that though as its under the bumper.....just for my sanity :)

Went to VW and ordered 123 worth of parts too!!!!! got new interior bits for the door handles, all new clips for the trip and grommits..

new set of mats, an oil filter and sump and washer....two new windo mirror backings to be painted too....

two new indicator repeater cases as the clips are bust!

    all good!!!!

very good in the dry, not fantastic in the wet. eagles are better in the wet
