saw it in the workshop on wednsday, your really puhing along with the project now and atleast you haven't got to worry about finishing it before easter, unlike the guys in the new workshops nw that they're putting all of the equipment in storage[:^(]

were you at no-rice this month? it was pretty manic:lol: think i saw your g40 but thre was so many i could'nt tell if it was yours or not. did you see the BMW E30 that james rolled up in:o couldn't believe how nice it was, and how rare it is too. something like only 10 left in the uk:clap: + a lot of the other HND's were down there aswell, th guy with the capri and the other geeze with the orange caterham, i remember seeing him building that car in the workshops last year.

Erm, Simon's E30 M3 is very nice yes.
    I don't own a g40.
The 'chaterham' is actually a Dax Rush
And John only bought the Rush a few months ago....

    Anyway, back on topic [:x]

Car got trailered down last night to g-werks/psd so clive (round the back of them) can spray it.

    Here's a few little pics:

Was abit of a pain to load without an antiroll bar, but basically man handled it onto the trailer and job's a good un.

Because on a Polo that's what keeps the wheels in place :-).
There are no A-arms on a Polo - only a "stick" with the wheel at the end so to speak - the wheels and arms are being kept from moving back and forth by the anti rollbar. Basically about the same setup as an old Ford Escort or Capri.

You should think about getting som compression struts for it by the way - or go full subframe. But the struts are fairly easy.

ohhhh that explains it. I couldn't work out why the arb would make a difference. [:^:]

The anit roll bar (read: keep it together bar) basically hold everything together in a polo.

Fear not it's getting a full subframe and wishbones when i have the time to jig one up, should go some way to sort out the crappy handling.

Cheers for the comments so far guys, should be sprayed within a week/ 2 weeks hopefully [:D]

yep, tiny little bit of sprung steel about the diameter of your thumb, pritty crap by any standards.... for the time being i've got nylon blocks to replace any rubber bushes, so should keep the front end in check if i decided to drive it before a subframe set-up is sorted.

Whilst on the topic of anti roll bars, the new rear axle on there has the intergrated arb from the polo gt/g40 models in it... every little helps

Progress on Wednesday, arb is on (thanks james!) so car can now be moved if required, and front end is all fibreglassed up (will get a proper fibreglass front panel in summer along with wings)

Will be rubbing it down tomorrow and primering the bits that need it and then paint will follow soon [:D]
