it's weak as poop at the mo, a vertical plate that closes the front of that L section up will make a huge difference

make it out of a cornflakes packet and load it, it'll be obvious what needs doing

do you guys learn any structural mechanics?

Here's pics of my finished shell ready to take an engine :unibrow:

Will have a few hours to do some finishing touches, like put the seats in etc, but this is about as far as its going to get for a while.

    Very nice job

Can you tell me how you have mounted your berg cup wings as i am looking into other ways rather than the rivet gun.

Any chance of some close up picks of the mountings for them

    Cheers

Northlee- the best way for me at the moment was self-tapping screws, as i had to take the arches on and off to work on suspension etc.

I'dve thought rivets would crack the arch?? I've seen some of them bonded on (i presume with tigerseal or something along those lines) but i intend to make the front removable sometime.....

Cheers for the comments guys, quite chuffed how its turned out, i'm only 19 and couldn't weld at the start of this (still can't  ) and hadn't really done anything of this magnitude before :p

    Thanks

    Pete

That's going to be a proper weapon when it's finished [8D]

How much of your timetable does this take up? Do you do other stuff besides this?

I wish my BEng had more stuff like this on the syllabus [|)]

Looks like you've done well to get as far as you have in four hours a week ;)

Given the biofuel angle I don't see why they wouldn't let you do the engine for your dissertation - sounds like a mint little project.

Count yourself lucky that you only have to spend your final year at the wretched place - I was there for 4 [><]
