thats great, just found the mag online and found the link from there to the makers website so i have saved it in my favourites.
Right ive hit the first wall what do i do there is a b7 RS4 for sale close to me and im being presured by the missus should i give up the project and buy it or carry on with the project?
Never let a woman tell you what to do unless theres kids involved so carry on unless you cant be assed yourself?
Yeah sell it, im the half hearted previous owner and i wish id never sold it. Ill give you back what you paid for it lol. Id buy it back tomoz let me know if you want it gone.
sorry mate its mine now lol yea i bet you miss that car now. got my second wind stripped the under seal off today welded in new inner and outer arches built my coilovers and started the rebulid on the rear beam so seeing this through
just a couple of pics of my handy work a nice new inner and outer wheel arch little filler needed but very happy for my first attempt. also mocking up the rear beam going 5 stud
wasn't happy with the filler hole so gave it a poke and found a hole so it had to come out after cutting the rust welding in new metal i painted it with a rust proofer after that i etched primed it next ill anti corrosive paint it and weld in new filler pics to follow.
Welded in the new pannel and ground back the weld after doing that i found that there was a large dent around the swage line so filled it but sanding back that shape is beyond me so ill leave it till my body shop pal can do it so leaving that i repositioned the top bracket on my rado pedal box So thats enough for today more progress to follow
Ive got to get around to doing my rear beam. Ive got a spare 16v one which is in need of a refurb!! Coming along nicely mate
Thats the best way to do it send it away for blast and powder coat (strip it first) your mine only problem is getting hold of the brake line clips.
Well done! Really like this and your approach to the job in hand.It WILL be worth it in the end, trust me.Good choice regarding the gearbox ratio's you might get some traction now. Look forward to seeing more! Tommy.
Got my calipers back from paint and there looking good! just need to reassemble them when the seals arrive
