Cheers my body shop mate would not say great job he laughed at the filler and dug it all out then beat the dent out and then just a light skim it now looks spot on pics will follow soon. im going to run 312 mm discs and the original 323 mm brackets that come with them but i machined 6.5 mm off the mating face to bring them in closer i have not built them up yet so do not know if that is going to work. would love to make the brackets but i have no time in my life at the moment but might have to if ive wrecked my other ones.

    No worries :)

The thing is, after reading up on a few restoration threads, a year off the road would be so worth it

There is no way I'd ever sell the mk2, so it would be well worth it.

I'll be keeping my eye on this thread mate.

Stop it! You are making me jealous... Great work.
Love to have the space to fully strip mine and attend to a few rough patches which are developing.

Just a pic of the selector trial fitted bolted from the bottom into rivnuts i fitted into a plate id welded in, and nuts and washers from the top the threaded rod that sticks through were changed to longer ones and a 25 mm spacer was added so it all sit nice and square.
