That "impressive" post count is, in fact, entirely fictional. Do you honestly think I have made over 300 posts a day for coming up on 5 years?
I honestly don't know, TSC - stranger things have happened. I have no particular fascination/problem with post-counts myself.
Fair enough. I just took your being impressed.... as the start of the 'usual' newbie obsession. You wouldn't be the first.
i would rather have the camper and his G60 any day.... but then I'm on club GTI because I am a young chav driving gti lover
^lol Not trying to pick a fight at all but... Pretty/charming as they are, I couldn't bear to drive a Camper unless it was equipped with a Subaru or Porsche engine. Sorry, but I'm just too impatient. Same goes for Land-Rover Defenders - 4-litre V8, or I just don't want to know. As for their long-term value, a pretty solid investment right now but 10 years down the line we could see most cars built before 1980 being legislated off UK roads completely. That would be the time to escape this isle, in your Camper.
As stated previously, I swapped one for the other. Since that is now roughly two years ago the comparison today between the two in value is an eye opener. You'd be lucky to get a 10k bid on the Trophy, whereas well I'll leave the rest to your imagination.
N/B my statement certainly wasnt naive. i was stating that anyone who earns even crap money will get finance on a new car, (up untill the credit crunch anyway). i dont think this is a positive, and as you said its got us in the mess were facing now. ive never borrowed money in my life. never been i debt and never bought anything on hp. i dont agree with the fact its so easy to buy new cars, and im not suggesting anyone does it on borrowed money. i was just stating that anybody can do it.
