Don't read it then you clown, are you just sore because I ignored you on Facebook or what? Just finished making a new exhaust, had to take a pic, full on hero tailpipe 4" outward rolled off one of the Beemers our Polish unit-mate broke, so the exhaust is now made up of 12 seperate pieces from 7 different cars, welded together particularly badly Welded in the mounts for the passenger seat so that's now ready for (roller) paint, then everything can be re-fitted. The engine should be ready to go once I've connected fuel but I'm going to have my mate check it over first. At this rate it might see the road again!
I loved 4" outward rolled tailpipes back in the day! A guy near me had am immaculate R5GTT with one on it and in my young stupid mind i thought it was the bulls balls!
Bit of an update - I couldn't get the bloody thing running, and since I'm about to leave my unit there would be nowhere to keep it, so as a last ditch effort I paid a man 100 to sort it out, and it lives! So I've been sorting it out for MOT time... As it stood for quite some time since I last updated this thread A lick of paint for the bumpers And tried on my yank rear reflector A Coupe 16v, which was a steal at 300 as it stands! And just a couple of them together, why not eh Then put the interior back in - Binned the battery tray from the bay And put it behind the passenger seat Gotta sort a binding brake, bleed the clutch again, plug the center diff lock back in, weld the exhaust up (it blew off making it go bang ) and sort all the lights out and it's good to go
I saw the what's it worth in classic Audi and thought I was going to end up getting broken ! I'm glad you kept going
Very cool, huge soft spot for 80's-90's Audi's. Was wondering what had happened to this - it's good it didn't suffer the same fate as your mk2.
I have memories of having to do this weekly on one of my coupes, only fixed by replacing the slave cylinder.
No I got rid of the twin because I would have nowhere to keep it and it was never going to be a road car this will be my daily! In hindsight, I should really have changed that while the box was out...
if its the same as my 86 coupe GT, it should be external on the bell housing & from memory: you only have to remove a single rolled pin & disconnect the hydraulic pipe connection. Bit of a faf to get at without a lift, but doable in-situ on the car.
it can be done!! but as above its not easy, and dont drop the piston into the bell housing, like my father in law did on the rally car!!
From what I understand (and had a very brief look at before deciding "it'll be alright" ) they're not easy to remove, and the usual method is to smack them out from the inside...
