lightened flywheel, flowed throttle body, eventually put a different exhaust on there, put the standard airbox back in and done to the usual mods to that... and about another 40k miles!

thats i can think of for now lol. plans? sort out the bodywork (front end, intercooler, front bumper!) and respray. sometime this year i would like to fit a mk4 shift mech and a rebuild box with a lsd. and just generally tidying it up, i.e interior bits and bobs and tidy up the bay.

    thanks :)

NOTE: no longer have tape on the bonnet and got the original chrome vw badge on the front now.

EDIT after reading many previous posts: 1.8t flat? standard mk4 150bhp - yes but a bit of tuning and they go like f**k! the boost lets off a little, from 16psi to 11psi nearer the red line, but thats just to stop it blowing up. even running at 6psi, its great fun! this in my car though, never personally driven a mk4.

Wow that's a lot of plans mate, how wide you thinking of going?

Mine are 9" wide may a bit too excitedly wide, committed now so will be trying these out and see how I get along.

    Nice stuff Matt.

My lardy mk3 (but less lardy than a mk4) is below. Cost me 1100 in Nov 2008 with 89k on the clock - fvwsh. air con, full electrics. Bargain.

Plans are to remove mudflaps, put on a new bonnet, change the alloys to d90's or anni's, new discs and pads, lightened and balanced flywheel, ebay chip, german plates - so not too much - hahaha!

So far I've put a piperx panel filter in, modfied the airbox, milltek cat back s/s system, toyo proxes all round, fk ak coilovers, new standard grille, bmw 1 series rear wiper mod, aero wipers on front

The bonnet looks alright from a distance - but up close it looks like a previous owner has driven the car behind a grit lorry for 100 miles!! - I've already replaced the pock-marked grille and the bonnet is next as alot of the bazillion stone chips have gone straight through the paint and have been left untreated and have now rusted a right at the front. Its just easier and cheaper to throw a new bonnet on than fill in the old one, repaint etc etc.

Bonnet needs to be mint though.
