They didn't fit a lambda probe to my ABF conversion and the car subsequently failed it's mot due to high emissions.

This is still a good forum, with enthusiasts and no actors*, it wouldn't matter what forum you posted this on, sub standard work is just that, and there is no excuses for it.

(* If anyone truely is an actor or has had a bit part or cameo role, please PM and I'll modify my post)

I think the main point is not the fact that it is dangerous, you could have equal pressure over the hose and it may never come off.

BUT, would you risk all the hard work for a 2 minute job on such a critical part of the car?

I once made a set of water pipes up out of steel for a quick job on the tilt bed at work, engine was running and the hose pipe blew off and cracked me on the shin, if it had been a boost hose I would of broken my leg.

Whether it be for 5 minutes or 5000 miles, in critical areas like that there is never a reason to do substandard work.

    Dave!

    Errr, ok.
Now YOU explain why you are talking about using jubilee clips in that particular application and unremittingly defending it.

    Ulterior interests, that's why!

it is a technical debate and these are my view and comments so DD's name should not be mentioned.
