Most briefings state No overtaking in the braking zones or corners Pass only on the left hand side ( Combe is on the right I think, something to do with how the pits are situated) I've even heard some say " even If you get waved by on the right hand side (which sometimes makes sense), don't "
now that you mention it that makes sense, most tracks i cnn think of have the pits on the inside of the track, i.e the track encloses it on all flanks. combe hower the pits are outside the track.
There are times when there is no alternative but to overtake on the 'wrong' side - it happened to me twice at Donny through coming out of the last chicane a lot faster than the car I was following and they moved towards the left earlier than I could do. The officials never said a word to me about it, and I was holding my hands up to them at the end of the pit wall to say what could I have done?
Headlights ON for me is usually req'd. That and a bright yellow car you would think people might see it....
I think headlight use should be made compulsory on track too (as it is at the 'Ring) Always have my lights on.
Ive never managed to get myself to a track day but Im building a car that most people would consider to be a track car. But its not my only transport and also Im mad enough to use it for long distance touring (who needs a windscreen for comfort )
If you're on about the 911 incident Tub, lets face it, that really wasn't an overtaking opportunity for you, the 911 was dithering about, I was unsure WTF he was doing.... right click 10mb - WMV file Tub got carried away Edited by: G_V_K
in the defence of the bumbeling car i found 120% of my metal energy going one th 10001 things you need to concentrate when driving a expensive car for the first time with 400bhp to the rear wheels. I held a prosche up but did eventually let him past. having a calm experinced driver in the passenger seat helps while popping that track cherry
So whens the next one (north ish). I'll have a trip round in the mk2 and if it get bumped a bit so what? Its only a piece of tin with a dead cow in it
