thanks for your thoughts and comments, i shall break the car as everything that isn't bent is in perfect condition.
I have since found out from the Police that the person who lent the car to the w****r that drove into mine has insurance that covers my loss, so not a completely hopeless situation.
I also found myself a new mint Golf last week. H plate, 3 door red, BBS, half smoked, unmodified, 68K, nearly concourse. Damn lucky that turned up just when i wanted one.
I will try and get some before and after pictures of my old Golf up on here, and my new one too.

finally worked out how to get photos on here, well here are the before and after of my 80K mile 8V that is now destroyed. I get sicker every time i look at them. For those who don't know, i bought this with 18K on the clock about 3 years ago from an elderly lady owner - the only owner.

Cars in that mint condition are rare as it is without the help of pr***s driving on the roads and causing carnage !! Another minter bites the dust, a great shame !!!

Glad to hear of the new car though

I'd be very tempted to reshell it if I were you. A car like this is worth a couple of K imo, whereas you'll not get that in parts...

Have you been to see the Police regarding the uninsured driver as they can prosecute him for that offense as you have valid proof that he isnt insured!
I would go down they and see them and see what they suggest and dont let them shrugg you off with it's a civil matter as this isnt!
they maybe able to prosecute and gett damages occured back from this guy!
    try it!

My brother got hit by an uninsured driver and he got a payout after the police took the driver to court :)

Did you get the police involved at the time as they should have been called to come and take the other bloke away - when my brother got hit his girlfriend called the police as soon as he mentioned no-insurance and they wouldn't let him go until the police turned up

Work hard to make the life of the plankton who hit you a misery. Get the swine in court and rack up some convictions for him.

    looking up

The police collared him at the scene, well, at the hospital where he was taken so they are prosecuting. At the start of next month he is going to court to be charged with driving without insurance and also dangerous driving.

My legal aid solicitors are going after him for my car, all costs and also whiplash. Git - deserves all he gets.

As for repairing it, everything behind the central door pillar is bent to some extent, floor pan, sides, roof, etc etc,.....

Thats a real shame, my first golf was too bent to repair and I was heartbroken - at least the d1ck's going to court so he should get whats coming to him - they don't look to kindly on the un-insured so he'll be on the judges bad side from the off ;)
