YEAH MAN A CLASSIC TUNE EH DUBST16V.

I don't just drive a classic mint golf gti 16v, I've also got an M3 CSL amongst others and I have to laugh sometimes when young pretenders try to keep up or even burn me up. Surely they must know that I'm driving something 'when limited' that can do 155 but as it happens mine is limited to 175mph and I've done it 4 up too. So why bother thrashing the butt off your motor only to see the other car floor it and leave you in the dust if he can be bothered at all?

There comes a time when you must wake up to reality and realize that I and most other fast car drivers aint bothered about srewing around on the road. I make this point now because I saw a Golf Gti the other day lose it on a public road and end up dead, so was it really worth it.

I've seen some wicked cars at club meets and events and I take my hat off to those of you who work hard and spend loads on tuning your cars up with loads of mods and sound systems, but at the end of the day there is a limit to what you can and can't do, so keep up the respect and don't blow your investment.

PS. This is one of the better forums around, a good laugh too

I just wrote about 4 paragraphs about this subject but in the end couldn't be bothered to argue lol. It went along the lines of humbling a 'high power car' in something unsuspecting. But hey ho, I'm gonna leave it now

 I beat a tuned Omega V6 up to just over 150mph in the scabby beemer - then he put on some magic blue flashy lights and I was so magically hypnotised I had to pull onto the hard shoulder, and showed him loads of paper stuff.
Then I had to go to a big building where the "magic-strate" put 6 points on my licence and I had to hand over lots of smaller bits of paper stuff.[:$]

I can understand what Conrad is saying. But i do like to "not race" but have a little bit of fun with some very powerful cars not for me to think my car is amazing (I already think that!) but to just get the opertunity to see some car get driven they way they should ! I know im not going to have a chance with an Evo FQ bla de bla but what a buzz getting to see one of them really taking off from the lights even if it did show me up ! I know what car I have, what it capable of and maybe one day ill have the money to get a really interesting and fun car, but that will not be for a long time ! I could list a few cars I have "kept up with" or a few who struggled to keep up with me BUT then it would be the case of everyone trying to contradict me (like thats happening with a lot of people who post on these kind of threat topics) and say im taking pish !

i've got a small one but it smells like a big one

haven't ever kept up with anything impressive in my dubs! left a vr6 for dead in my old tuned corrado valver!! i think i may have caught him out in the wrong gear though

was borrowing an audi s4 at the weekend and had a transporter pushing me up the motorway at 120! i dropped him eventually, but i had to touch 140 for a bit. amazing how many bmw's wanted to race me in that, had a burn up with a few along the way
